Meridian M8X24-DS System Problem - All handsets are blinking on all lines

Hello:
I just got back from vacation and there had been a power outage down the street that affected our office. Our meridian M8X24-DS with flash is set up on a UPS, but the power was out for about 5 hours so the UPS drained. Now all handsets in our office are blinking on all lines and periodically ringing. We don't know if it is an actual call or the system acting up. If we choose a line, we can dial out, and people can dial in to the system attendent, but the blinking lines are driving us crazy. I checked with the phone company and there is no problem on their end.

I tried recycling the Meridian unit for about 5 mins. but when it came back online the same blinking occurred.

Any suggestions?

I don't have a backup software cartridge. Is there a way for me to wipe this cartridge clean and reprogram it?
    Thanks

    Thanks

Sounds like a defective software cartridge
try a swap and see if flashing stops

Power outage need to reset - blinks "CL"

remove the power adapter and remove the battery from the handset. Now replace the battery and power the base unit , place the handset on the base and select intercom or search remote.
The base unit must automatically set the frequency to mesh with the handset and handshake to connect.

We had a power outage, main system box making sound like a rotary phone when I dial.

The battery in your phone system is dead. This will happen every time you have a power failure. Everything resets. Date becomes Jan 1st 1980 (but might update if you have callerID), all phones will have access to only line 1 and line 2, both those lines will ring on all calls, and the line settings are set back to pulse ...

Ideally you either have the battery replaced (it's soldered on the board of the system), or you get a new phone system. Otherwise you'll have to reprogram everything when you have a power failure.

After a series of power outages and brown outs over the weekend, our system has lost all of the predialed #'s and only one phone in the whole office (10 phone) rings.

Hello. Often the aftermath of a power outage is a power surge. If your phone system is not surge protected, this is the likely culprit. The damage done by a surge or several surges can only be assessed with a thorough diagnostic exploration. This has to be done by a technician with the proper diagnostic equipment and know how. j.

There is terrible static on all lines and the phone company states that it is our phone system. We have the Northstar Meridian M7324.

It sounds like a reboot of your system may be in order, When ever you have a system wide problem of this scope the main box on your wall is having trouble. power it down and power back up, this should fix it.

We lost power and when our Meridian M8X24 phone system with T7316E phones came back up we only have access to 2 lines. How do we gain access to the other lines again.

Sounds like your norstar system needs to be reprogrammed because norstar defaults back to only 2 lines when the inturnal battery fails. If the inturnal battery has failed and you reprogram this phone system and you have another power fail you will have to have you system reprogrammed again.Time for new system.

Handset has message Out of Range even though it is fully charged on on the handset.

The handsets are reading out of range because they have lost connection with the base. This happens mostly during peak power demands or power outages, but can also happen when the phone is unplugged for any amount of time. This can also cause, at times, the answering machine to stop picking up calls. To remedy this issue, reset the phone system. Please follow the instructions below:
To reset the phone:
1. Disconnect the power adapter, phone line, and remove all batteries from the base and all handsets. Leave it disconnected for 30 seconds to reset the base.
2. Place the batteries in the handsets first and then plug in the power adapter and phone line. Do not place the batteries back in the base yet.
3. Put the handset in the charge cradle.
4. It may take up to 1 minute for the "Out of Range" to clear from the display.
5. Once the "Out of Range" is cleared from the handset place the back up batteries back into the base.
