I had a frozen water line in a GE refrigerator, Model GSH25JSTASS. I sealed the freezer compartment with drop clothes and blankets. I used a hair dryer to warm up the door. The water soon flowed again. Now there were several places where the door plastic behind the little shelves seemed cold a few minutes after heating with dryer, even after a couple of hours with the door open. Could ice be building up inside the door itself? Is that a problem? The water continues to properly flow after a couple of weeks. However, I am still wondering about ice building up in the door.
I don’t this specific model but this is normally due to a blockage from the freezer department to the drainage that goes to the back of the freezer. One has to take out the drawers, thaw the ice that sculpted at the drainage point. Open the back cover and clean the rubber nipple from any blockage or dirt and the problem is solved. Different models maybe different.

Generally, icing is the result of too much water vapor inside the unit, blockage of the circulation channels and too much packing in of the box. The water vapor is generally caused by: uncapped items in the fridge, opening the door too often, humid conditions, bad door seals. There is of course, there is a possibility that the defrost cycle on the unit is not working. About once a day, depending on the brand, you should notice that the fans and compressor don't run and you should hear a bit of creaking, sloshing or other strange noises as the ice melts. If this is not happening, your defrost timer or the coil it heats could be bad.

good then go ahead and ohm out the sensor and the relays to see if the resistance is close to the normat. 70 degrees is roughly 1000 ohms. relay you are lookling for continuity or open. then you can also ohm the fan motor too. let me know what you find;.that will determin whts bad and whats good

Hi, Is this a wwhirlpool brand fridge?
The drain is plugged in the freezer section. If I could get model #,I can get you ezact instructions.
If the floor panel in the freezer has screws holding it in, remove the fllor panel. Now you will need to remove the rear panel inside the freezer as well.
If this is a Whirlpool brand, there is an after market drain heat strip that you will need to add to the defrost heater.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks
Vic
My water dispensor INSIDE the door froze
up.
I payed a repair guy $75 to use MY BLOWDRYER to "thaw" the frozen
water line INSIDE the freezer door (below the water dispenser).
He said anytime the frozen food extends over the freezer shelf and touches the
freezer door for a long enough period of time, the water line inside the door
FREEZES!!
PREVENTION: "Keep some airspace between the door and frozen food."
