My Samsung RF263 fridge's ice maker stopped filling with water. I've already done some of the more simple troubleshooting (pressed the reset button, replaced the water filter). I also pulled the fridge out from the wall and removed the lower access plate, to look for possible reasons it stopped working. I've read multiple questions/answers that others posted, and the next thing I want to check for is a frozen water line. I have not seen any detailed instructions for which line and what location to check. Would someone knowledgeable on how to do this please post details of which line(s) I should check, where to look, and any specific steps if digging into the fridge gets dicey? Thank you!
That company is being sued in a class action for their ice makers. With that in mind there is a tecnical bulletin for certain units and the repair is a three step process, defrost the unit and check the ice maker fill tube. They tend to move out of position, press it back into position and use a caulking sealant around the tube, the last thing is to check for a lip around the ice maker holder in the freezer, if it is present you need to trim it back. As a last resort, you can change the main board.
Testimonial: "Thanks Brad. I looked up the technical bulletin and it is for the models with the door ice dispenser. My model doesn't have the door dispenser. How do I check for a frozen water tube on my model (RF263)? Do I gain access to the tube from inside the freezer compartment or is do I access it from the back of the fridge? Assuming that a potentially frozen tube would be in the freezer compartment, what (if anything) do I need to take apart to check it? I appreciate the help! Thanks."

ALWAYS UN-PLUG ANY APPLIANCE BEFORE CHECKING ANY COMPONENT ... WAIT 15 MINUTES BEFORE PLUGGING BACK IN. FIRST THING TO DO IS ALWAYS CHECK THE WATER SUPPLY LINE FROM THE SUPPLY LINE VALVE (SADDLE VALVE 1/4" COPPER LINE IF USED) USUALLY BEHIND YOUR REFRIGERATOR OR YOU MAY HAVE TO TRACE THE SMALL COPPER-LINE BACK TO WHERE IT IS CONNECTED TO THE NAIN WATER SOURCE. TAKE A RAG AND BUCKET AND SLOWLY LOSEN THE BRASS OR NEOPREME NUT TO ENSURE YOU HAVE ADEQUATE WATER PRESSURE AND FLOW.... NO WATER? NO ICE !!! THEN YOU CAN CHECK THE WATER SOLENOID VALVE AND INTERNAL STRAINER & ORFICE LOCATED USUALLY ON THE BACK OF THE FRIG AND JUST INSIDE THE SUPPLY SIDE OF THE SOLENOID VALVE. MOST ALL WATER DISPENSER, AND ICE MACHINE PLOBLEMS ARE DUE TO SEDEMENT THAT CLOGGS THE SOLENOID ORFICE OR CAUSES IT NOT TO "SEAT" PROPERLY. IF YOU SEE YOU HAVE GOOD WATER FLOW ... TO THE INLET SIDE OF THE SOLENOID VALVE ... PLUG FRIG BACK-IN. GO TO WHERE THE ELECTRIC WATER SOLENOID IS LOCATED ... TAKE A BUTTER KNIFE OR A "METAL" NAIL FILE AND HOLD IT ABOUT A 1/4" FROM THE TOP OF THE SOLENOID ... IT SHOULD PULL THE METAL DEVICE YOU ARE HOLDING DOWN BY THE MAGNETIC FORCE THE SOLENOID CAUSES.... THIS TELLS YOU THE SOLENOID IS GOOD AND THAT YOUR PROBEM IS SOMETHING ELSE. I ALWAYS RECOMMEND CALLING A TRAINED LISCENSED "FACTORY CERTIFIED" APPLIANCE REPAIR COMPANY (CHECK THE BBB IN YOUR AREA). UNFORTUNATELY HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS ARE BILKED BY THE FIX-IT-ALL HANDY MAN THAT COST CONSUMERS THOUSANDS YEARLY.

Hi All,
The fix to the "GE/Hotpoint Secret" frozen water dispenser problem is
the Dispenser Water Tube Heater Kit, P/N WR49X10173 that can be
purchased at Sears. Just a few bucks. My Hotpoint (model HSM25GFRA5A)
had the same issue and GE would not tell me anything but required a
technician to come out. The technician had no clue but after making
some calls found the heater at Sears and ordered it delivered to me.
He had to setup a return appointment but I canceled it after getting
the parts and fixing it myself. The instructions are in the kit.
Since most all GE/Hotpoint refrigerators (same model group of course)
use the same parts/assemblies this will work for lots of folks. See pic below. If
the area behind the cover looks like this it may be the part. Feel free to
email me for help on this ([email protected]). Piece of cake.

good sign its flashing , woth door open depress the left side flap oppiste the blinkin light. does the light then go solid red??? i fso its an indication that the electricl eye is operating ok .
theres a screw 1/4 in. along the right side underneath the icemaker itself, youll need to removeit and the cover its holding down. you can then slide the ice maker assy foward and out of machine,There will be another litle tab along loeft side uder ice maker youll need to depress to ppulll unit out. pry off the white cover from front of the ice maker assy itself and have a look at the main gear 2 in. round, is it broken off, or on its way top breaking( sometimes the tabs that hold it on to the ice maker module itself break preventing operation, if this is the case youll need to repalce the ice maker assy.

If your water valve is good and your filter is not in need of replacing then you probable need a new icemaker, yes.
SOURCE: I have a side by side Kenmore fridge with ice
The ice maker has two 1/4 inch sheetmetal screws holding against the wall upper left and one underneath the maker. Remove these and it should come out
