My DISH remote won't light up even with new batteries

When battery is changed, all the previous settings will be lost from the remote control. You should once again set it to your device, using codes.

Is this a new remote or the existing one? I have provided instructions on how to program the remote to your TV and to readdress the remote to your receiver. Select the model of the receiver you have, click on the link and the just follow the directions. The bottom portion of the page has links for TV codes to program the remote to your TV. If this doesn't work, you may need a new remote. I hope this helps.

When you replaced the batteries in the remote, does any light on the top of the remote light up when you press the select button? If any light other than the SAT button lights up, press and release the SAT button to put the remote back into satellite mode, then try the remote to see if it functions correctly. If none of the buttons light up, make sure all batteries are lined up with the + (positive) facing down. If they are, you may need to readdress the remote to the receiver. I hope this helps.

I would first check that the batteries (+) is all pointing down in the remote. If they are all pointing down, then you probably need a new remote. Call 1-800-333-3474, speak with Tech support to get another remote. I hope this helps.

Have about a 30 second window to replace batteries before all codes are lost and when you put in the new batteries it goes into programing mode. Re-enter codes and try it again. Have the same remote and it has happened to me before.

If the light stays on and you have already replaced the batteries, then the remote needs to be replaced. Please call 1-800-333-3474 and speak with Tech Support. I hope this helps.

This is usually a defective remote and will usually drain new batteries in days. Have a replacement sent to you by Dish. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I do not suggest opening your remote. If you call dishnetwork and inform them no lights are illuminating with new batteries, they will replace the remote. Pricing may depend on your accounts warranty.
