If none of the lights light up on the top of the remote when you press/release Select, check to make sure the batteries are placed correctly in the remote. If they are, you may need to readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided instructions on how to program the remote to your receiver. I hope this helps.

Hey there! My name is Becki Barned, with Dish Network customer service. Your remote may need to be replaced, but try these steps first! 1. If you haven't changed the batteries in the past 60 days, go ahead and do so if possible. 2.Go to the system info screen at the receiver ( pulling out smart card) and readdress remote. Hold down SAT til all lights light up at top, then press # 2-9 on keypad the pound (#), then record (above the 3). This should resolve your issue. If not, blog back, or you can find us on Twitter!!!

If the dish network remote control is universal it may work with limited functions. If the remote control has buttons labeled cd, receiver, cable or Aux etc. it might work. The manual will tell you for sure. It will also provide you with the proper code for the component to work.
