Mine did that and i shot a bit of WD40 on all the moving parts. It works now. I think it was stored in a damp air place and corrosion set in.

SOURCE: air stapler leaks air through ''nose''

This sounds like one of the O-rings has failed. Yes it can be fixed. Check to see if HD has an O-ring kit for these guns. That kit will contain all of the O-rings as well as the lubricants for a total rebuild. That should resolve your problem.

SOURCE: Bostitch stapler T40S2 has air leak at trigger. I

Go to the Stanley Bostitch website. Click on schematics & parts. Find your model number in the drop down list. There is a list of parts and pricing. Just above the parts is a link for the schematic. Honestly, I worked on these things for years. It is best to replace the entire trigger valve. It comes as a kit with instructions grease, and a little tool to hammer your pins out. Lemme know if this helps. Please rate me

SOURCE: my craftsman easy fire stapler diagram

Mine stopped working last night. I took it apart and was able to reassemble it properly.

When both sides are rejoined the tip of the spring has to be inserted in the hole on the corresponding side (note red arrows on both pics)

This is a great stapler when it's working.

SOURCE: Crown Stapler stopped shooting staples

Did you look for a staple jammed in the driver mechanism? If the piston is stuck down, it won't respond to the trigger. Try smacking the top of the stapler onto a wooden bench to see if the force will release the piston. Make sure that you use air-tool oil for lubrication inside the tool. Hope this gets you running!

My stapler will not fire it lets out a little air

This problem is usually caused by the safety foot not pushing the trigger firing pin all the way in. Easy test. Remove the nails and airline, remove the trigger to expose the trigger firing pin. Connect airline and with very quick motion depress the firing pin all the way in. If the gun fires then adjust the safety foot. If the gun does not fire, remove the head and pull out the headvalve. Lube all orings in the head with plenty of white grease. Reinstall head and test. If the gun still does not fire, time for oring kit. Good luck.

What should I do if my brand new Fasco pneumatic upholstery stapler is leaking air through the tail end...not the hose, but the two holes in the handle? Any suggestions?

Hi Anonymus,

What's happened if the driver blade has stopped in mid stroke, the air will escape. Quickest was 'round this is to take the airline off the tool, then find some scrap wood, place the tool on it as though you're firing it, and in THIS ORDER... pull the trigger and re-connect the airline at the same time. This usually sorts this out. Regardless of the tool make and model this will happen to most users sometime....

Hitachi N5008AC2 air stapler only sets staple 1/8

Check for jammed staple, you have to remove the screws that retain the head of the stapler. If air is leaking then there is a bad seal at the trigger.

Are you using air-tool oil before each use? Water or debris coming through the air hose can cause like problems. Try installing an in-line filter. Hope this helps!

My Makita AT1150A stapler does not shoot any staples. Air comes out around the trigger when pressed but does not do anything else. What do I do to fix this problem?

Check to see if there is any foreign object jamming the striker bar. These units also have a diaphragm that sometimes needs to be replaced. If you do not have an automatic oiler on the line the diaphragm could have cracked allowing air to pass through. The Stapler can not build up the necessary pressure to fire the striker driving in the stapler. Damaged or cracked this will need to be replaced. Not difficult and easy to DIY job. Do NOT hook up to air when doing this service. Dirt and grim can also jam the unit. Clean lightly oil, work the unit and see if it frees up. I typically put a few drops of oil made for pneumatic tools directly into the unit. Each time I pull the pneumatic tools out to use. I do not have an inline oiler. :)
Typically at the Male nipple connection where the brass female connector hooks too. 2-3 drops only!
Hope this helps!

When pressing the trigger to fire a staple, all I get is an air leak from the area of the trigger.

They all leak a little on firing. Is it a big blast of air or just a hiss? All guns have a 'safety' device that keeps them from firing unless you follow a set pattern. You must push the gun down where you intend to put the staple which releases the safety before you pulll the trigger. You must then release the trigger move the stapler off the piece push it back down again before you can fire another staple. You can get (free) frrom the manufacture a rapid fire shoe and trigger that allows you to hold down the trigger and bounce the stapler along your work shooting merrily away.
