By 'stride wire', do you mean just short across the switch? Yes you can but really you need to fix the problem. You know these things can blow up and spray shrapnel 30 feet?

You may have a short in the motor, in which case, shorting it out won't fix it.

Craftsman Electric Stapler Model #193.684231 aka 9-68423. (Came out in 1984) Can take up to 5 different size staples depending on your project. One feature is the "dual power" knob at the top which allows you to use "HI" or "Low" impact depending on the size staple used. Sorry about the blurry pictures, they are sharp on my computer. Try Googling the model number or looking on EBay. "No. 6" means "Heavy Duty Wide Crown .417 size."
I have 351.181720 and the driver does not return. I've had this for years but it has not seen extremely hard use (probably less than 500 brads). Suggestions. [email protected]
Either the unloader valve on the pressure switch is bad or the extension cord is too long or the start capacitor is weak.
When the tank is full, unplug and try to turn by hand a few turns.
Air should come out the unloader valve drain fitting.
