Hello, your problem is that your amp is rated at 4 ohms bridged mono ans 2 ohms stereo. If your running it in stereo you need to raise the ohms to 2 ohms a channel and if your running it bridged into 1 channel you need to be running it at 4 ohms. it really depends on ur choice but if it were me id get the biggest mono block amp i could to run the sub. and id run a 2 to 4 channel amp to power the rest.that way u get ur bass on it own supply and the voices on there own supply.if u want more detailed help let me know [email protected]

If you like a lot of bass, you definitely need to consider another amp. The SP2X-300 is only rated at 170 watts RMS into 4 ohms mono. That would barely be enough to power one small sub. You do not specify what brand and model your subs are, their impedance, or their power handling capacity. But for any subs, your best power solution is to add together the individual RMS power handling capacity and select a monoblock amp that provides close to the maximum at the impedance they will be wired to present. For example, if your subs are 4 ohms and have a maximum RMS of 250 watts, you would want an amp that outputs abour 500 watts into 2 ohms (2 4 ohm subs wired in parallel = 2 ohm load). An ideal amp in that example would be the Alpine MRP-M500 which outputs 500 watts RMS into 2 ohms.

you are better off setting your deck speakers amp to a high pass filter setting on the amp. Adjust gains to increase desired bass and clarity. Turn off loud button if you have one, that will distort your deck speakers.

The Peavey A/B controls are output gain controls. Your mixers stereo output goes into the amps inputs, channels A & B. The Peavey is the output stage to your speaker system. If you you connect the outputs from a power amp to the inputs of a mixer you will blow the mixers input stage, amongst many other things and possibly damage the amplifier too. The bias (Bass, Mid, Treble controls) are on the mixer, not the amplifier. Unless you are using a mixer amp, which you are not. A PA system DOES NOT work in the same way as an intergrated hi fi amp.

On your amp, there should be a switch (on the side probably) that has "LP", "HP", and "FULL" or "OFF". This is a switch for the low pass/high pass filter. Switch it to "LP" as this will allow only low frequencies to go to your subs, what you want. If you don't have that switch, go to an audio store or online audio supplier and get either a low pass filter, band pass filter, or a cross-over, and follow the wiring diagram that comes with it to filter out the high frequencies before they get to your subs.

With a single 4-ohm subwoofer, usually the best choice is a 2-channel amp that can be bridged to a single channel. In your case, the sub is rated for 1000 watts. Not many amps are rated for that kind of continuous power into a 4-ohm load. Kicker doesn't list a minimum power rating, which isn't unusual in subwoofer specs. Depending on your budget, I'd look for an amp rated for 300-500 watts minimum; the higher, the better, up to 1000 watts. Most amps will have several power ratings, based on the load impedance and number of channels driven. A typical 2-channel amp might be rated like this: 150 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms 300 watts x 2 channels at 2 ohms 500 watts x 1 channel at 4 ohms. The power rating you'll want to look at will be the 1-channel, 4-ohm rating. You can look at mono amps, too, but in the power ranges you're looking for, a 2-channel amp will probably give you the best value. However, if you can find a mono amp with a high enough 4-ohm power rating, it would run cooler and might last longer than a 2-channel amp with comparable power. When looking at mono amps, you'll find their highest power output will be at 2 ohms or 1 ohm; make sure you're checking the 4-ohm rating when making comparisons.
