There are several causes for piston not returning fully to top of cylinder. Here are some things to check. * Debris in the exhaust vent in the head preventing discharge air from flowing freely. * A slightly bent driver will have difficulty returning. It should be relatively easy to push the piston up or down with finger. If the driver piston fits too loose in the cylinder, there will be lack of power and piston will slide down easily or just be in the down position if there are no nails in the gun. * Missing or worn seal below the bumper. Most nailers have a seal or washer below the bumper. If worn, the air pressure will leak out the nose instead of pushing driver back up. If you suspect the bottom seal, you can make one out of innertube rubber. Just cut a circle of rubber and make thin slice or hole to allow the driver shaft the slip thru. *Finally, there should be a rubber check band or oring on the outer portion of the cylinder. The check band covers a series of holes. These holes are located within a groove or channel to hold the band. These holes are located below the bulkhead but above the vent slots near the bumper. If the check band is missing or broken, you can replace it with any oring or series of orings to cover the whole slot. Good luck with your repair.

Check the anvil guide for damage first (ie: burrs, nicks, etc.) Then go to the chamber for the return spring. That is where your problems are.

SOURCE: Paslode (30 degrees) framing gun firing pin not retracting

The tool needs to be completely torn down, cleaned out, two orings inside need replaced, re-lubed and re-assembled. takes a technician about 1 hour to do it right. I believe either the orings or dirt is your problem. If blade doesn't return its probably the orings.

Why wont the firingpin return

sometimes this is caused by not properly oiling the nailer, or a bent firing pin, or not the correct air pressure.
try and drip a few drips of oil in the air line hole and on the firing pin and check to make sure the air pressure is at least 80psi.
I hope this helps,

The fireing pin will not return fully

could be a jammed nail, the safety could be bent or the tool is dirty and needs to be cleaned and serviced. You can go to Paslode.com and type in your model number for information about how to disassemble and clean and service this tool, its not that hard.

Paslode cordless framing nailer model 325 (black)

the fan is what returns the valve in the chamber, whilst it may have been lubed it must be spotless in the chamber. Use paslode gun cleaner a clean cloth and the handle of a wooden spoon or similar and clean all residue and grime out of chamber and re lube. Or you just have a dead tool that was used for parts! good luck
