SOURCE: My fridge won't keep temp..

most samsung have a fan in the fridge and an evaporator. take off the back plate of the fridge and melt off and excess ice especially round the fan.; if it keeps happening then you have a fault in the defrost system

SOURCE: The refrigerator side is not cooling.

ALMOST DEFINATELY YOU WILL HAVE AN ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED AUGER(MOTOR)CONTROLLING THE AMOUNT OF CHILL ENTERING THE FRIDGE COMPARTMENT. IF YOU SET THE FRIDGE TO MINIMUM AND LISTEN CAREFULLY, THERE SHOULD BE A SOUND INDICATING THE AUGER IS WORKING.( OPENING AND CLOSING THE FLAP). SET TEMP. TO MAX AND LISTEN. IF NOTHING, IT COULS BE A DEFECTIVE MOTOR OR FAULTY THERMISTOR(TEMP. PROBE).

SOURCE: Have a 2 year old SAMSUNG RS2545SH Side by Side

Control board has gone bad....

What happens is the defrost is controlled electronically from a circuit board, when this goes bad, the freezer quits defrosting, and freezes the fans that circulate air through the fridge side of things.

To check this, unplug the entire fridge, leave the freezer open, wait for it to defrost a bit, if this causes the fridge to start cooling again when you plug it back in, then its the defrost. You should also see ice crystals on the back of the freezer just under the icemaker.

My double door galaxy (5 year old or so) seems to be at the right temperatures but the control reads 56 degrees for the freezer and fridge

Get a thermometer for both fridge and freezer to ensure temps are correct. Freezer should be around 0F and fridge around 37-38. If temps are correct but display is reading that much differently, control is most likely bad.

Clean your coils first, if they are dirty from dog hair or lint in general it will overheat compressor and cause temps to fluctuate

Hi there

Samsung's child lock is easy to alter

Press the vacation and fridge temp buttons simultaneously and hold for 4 seconds, this will release the child lock, to reinstate the lock just repeat this. 4 seconds is quite a long time.

Hope this helps

Refridgerator and Freezer Not Cooling (2 year old fridge)

Some of these had problems with the door light switches between the doors. They also control the fans. The top and bottom both have fans in back. Try opening top door and holding door light switch in. Wait for a couple minutes to see if fan comes on. Try with freezer too. If not coming on may need switch.
