I think it's best to keep the batteries charged overnight after each day of use, even if you haven't used the full battery. When you're not using your mobility scooter, it's best to charge the batteries once a week. To unleash the batteries full potential, charge your <a rel='nofollow' href="https://greatbritishmobility.co.uk/discount-mobility-scooters">discount mobility scooter </a>actively for a full cycle each time. I also find it's best to charge your <a rel='nofollow' href="https://greatbritishmobility.co.uk/electronic-wheel-chair">electronic wheel chair </a>in the same way, find a routine and stick to it.

Keep your scooter on charge doesn't sound right. Usually, eScooters take 3-4 hours for charging and many chargers have a red while charging. These chargers turn the green light on when they completed the charging. Here, you can also read more tips about the take care of your e-scooter or e-bike https://www.insurance4ebikes.co.uk/looking-after-your-e-bike/. However, according to auto experts battery should be full all the time.

My chair has been sitting for three years now won't take a charge and run did the main battery die

Time for a new battery. The worst thing you can do to a battery is let it sit for a long time. Once the battery was activated it is best to keep it charged while not in use. Use a trickle charger while storing your chair.

How to extend the battery life of Razor Scooter Batteries

You can extend the life of your scooter's battery if you take proper care of it. Most people report trouble in getting more than a year or two out of their razor scooter battery set. This is actually a common problem with vehicle batteries.

  • Keep your battery charged
It is recommended to keep your battery fully charged to avoid the build-up of sulfate-ion inside it. Sulfate-ion accumulates when the battery is in a discharged state for a long time. This is the most common reason of premature depletion of lead acid batteries. This can be easily avoided if the scooter battery is kept in a constantly charged state.

  • Charge you Razor Scooter Battery during the Off-Season
Even if not used Sealed Lead Acid Batteries will self discharge over long periods. This will leave the battery in a not fully charges state which will enable the sulfate-ions to build up inside the internal plates which will slowly deplete the battery's capacity. In order to prevent that, you should charge the razor scooter battery at least once every three months when it is not in service.

  • Use a Battery Tender
Battery Tender chargers are a great way extend the life of your SLA batteries as they are designed to fully charge and maintain a battery at proper storage voltage without the damaging effects caused by trickle chargers.

Re: Pride Celebrity X. Batteries drain quickly despite new fully charged batteries. Also when scooter is turned off and in free-wheel, the brake engages after just a few feet. Have to on/off to reset

New Batteries must broken in, For the first 20 Charges, do not allow the power level to go below half way before recharging. Charge the batteries in a warm environment. Also, if charging in a cold environment the batteries won't get the best range. Batteries have 60% of their capacity when the temp. is 32 degree F. At 0 degrees F. the batteries will only have 40% of capacity. Batteries have shrinkage. Good news the capacity best at 80 degrees.
If the brake is hanging up, it will cause drain on the batteries. A sure sign is, if they are hanging up is after 10 min. of running the brake will be very hot to the touch. It sometimes turns the brake blue in color or rusty.
The brake engaging while in freewheel mode is supposed to be a safety, to keep run-a-ways from occurring. I agree with you it is aggravating when you try to push the scooter. Scooter Doctor App

How many miles can I get from a fully charged Freerider Ascot 4 mobility scooter? My scooter seems to run out of charge after a few miles.

11 miles on full charged new batteries, this is approximately as condition change max distance, like you weight, if you are going uphill, how even the ground is etc. if you need more you could get a spare battery pack for it, and swap them over when needed. but remember to keep them charged even when not in use once a week is the best way to keep them in good shape.

Raggta 6 scooter not been used for 12 month, red light on charger flashing all time

A flashing red light orLED on most mobility scooter chargers means the Batteries have a defect as mostchargers also test the condition of the batteries. This has happen becausemobility scooters batteries loose charge when not in use, and need a maintenancecharge at least once a month (best once a week). If this is not done batterieswill fail! Get the batteries load tested to confirm that they are faulty,

My scooter has a code 31 that says has to be cleared before it will run. we were gone for several months, whe nI came home we charged it up but won't start has a code 31. Book says it has to be cleared to...

Sounds like you need new batteries. This code indicates a low battery condition.
If you have a digital voltmeter measure the voltage of each battery. Above 13 volts is best, 12 volts indicates a 50% charge. The total voltage when you add the two batteries together needs to be above 17 volts for the electronics to work.
Batteries that sit for several months may not take a charge. You can try charging them separately with a car charger set to gel/deep cycle setting to bring the voltage up. Make sure they are disconnected from the scooter and do this only for a short time, keeping your eye on them. The batteries may be too old and the plates sulfated by sitting too long.
A new set of U-1 batteries is my best recommendation. They are available locally and on line at a discount. If you install them your self you could save over $100 on the labor cost alone.
To clear the code install the new batteries and turn the scooter off and on. The code will clear itself when you disconnect the batteries. Charge the new batteries fully before use. Hope this helps.

My dad has a new scooter. he did not use it for some time the battery died... when i charge it back it won't charge... what would i do?

please rate my answer as a thumbs up 1 to 4 please,im disabled myself & do this cause i care not for profit. If the batteries are [AGM or GEL] you could have ruined them by letting them run down.Start again with the charging & follow the guidelines as to charging.& go from there, have the batteries tested,if they are ok,ur mobile again. Also you could visit:www.alldatasheet.com & download as a PDF File the info on your product, you can keep in Adobe Reader or Print for future.I have an electric scooter myself & the charging of the batteries is really important,if i just go 1/4 mile i will put them on charge.i have a trickle charger, mine can be left on for 3 months if im right. But IF BATTERIES ARE NOT USED WHEN FULLY CHARGED,BEST TO DISCONNECT THEM,SO THEY KEEP THEIR FULL CHARGE.HOPE I WAS OF HELP COLIN.

Travel pal will not charge

It is time to replace the batteries. Buy two, not just one. This scooter takes two 12 volt, 12 amp hour, sealed deep cycle batteries. If you replace just one, the charger will not charge them properly. Take off the seat (pull upward). Turn the scooter on its side. Remove the six screws (2 in front, 2 under the foot rest, and 2 in the back. Unsnap the old batteries (one at a time) and replace with new. Be sure to keep the wiring as is, so you keep the circuit in series (not in parellel). In fact, before you remove the old batteries, label the connections (A to A, B to B, etc.) so you reconnect just as they were. Total cost is about $200. Time to replace is about a half hour.
