Three things about this:
1 It may be under recall depending on its age and if it is over 10 years old, replace it.
2. The unit has a radio active source and should not be tampered with.
3. The information that you are asking for is proprietary and not available.

SOURCE: I have a KIDDE /

Normally, that means the battery(s) need changing.. But, hundreds people have had problems with this combo detector, it's hard to predict what it is.

But, as I said earlier, "Normally that means the battery(s) need changing." The keyword here is "Normally".

Good luck. I hope that solves your problem.

SOURCE: My Kidde smoke and carbon monoxide alarmmodel no. KN -COSM-8 started to beep in the middle of the night due to low batteries. I changed the batteries and pushed reset/ hush but still beeping.

If its inbetween 6 until 10 years old i recommend in that case to replace the unit because of its chemical compounds and radioactivity materials that will in most cases saturated beware of slightly radioactive material if trying to inspect for defects.

Kidde Carbon Monoxide Alarms

YES!!!! If this unit is working properly you should not be in the house. Maximum allowable safety level for an 8 hour period is 50! If you think it's working properly call the fire department! This will cause dizziness, nausea, etc. Let your fire department find the problem! If you don't believe me follow this link to owner's manual but do it quickly: http://www.kiddeus.com/utcfs/ws-384/Assets/KN-COB-B(9CO5)en.pdf
