I have an E2 error code on my Avanti Wine Cooler. It sounds like it is a Defrost Sensor. However I don't see that on their parts list. Do you know what the part is called?

SOURCE: MC wine cooler MCWC44DZ error code e3

I had an E3 on the upper zone. This fix was simple. Unscrew the 2 screws for the middle tray. Pull tray out as far as you can. Check the wires in the back, those are the wires for the fans in the back. The connectors over time corrode, and break off... All I did was connected the 2 wires that had broken off of their connector directly to eachother. E3 went away and the cooler is working as it should now.in

same problem, can not fix. Had a authorized service tech who said that you can not add freon to this unit, the only option is to plant flowers in it.

SOURCE: My Dome 40 bottle

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
The defrost thermistor has failed. This E2 error code means that your appliance has experienced a defrost sensor fault. The bad thermistor will be near the top of the evaporator coils.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

BWE40 wine cooler. Is it safe to leave it switched on when code e2 is showing? Does code e2 distinguish which of the two sensors need replacing? Thanks.

e2 is a temperature sensor error code.
You would need a multimeter to test sensor and control board.
Either could be the problem

Hi
E2 error code is a temperature sensor error code.

Remove the plastic black cover on the back and you will see the control board.
On the board you will see a wiring block with 4 thin wires going to it.
Test the 2 wires on the left and the 2 wires on the right with a multi meter. The reading in Kohms (kiloohms) should be the same.
If any are faulty then they will need to be replaced.
If the readings are the same, replace a faulty control board to be rid of the E2 error and your problem.

E4 error message

The E4 error code is a result of a malfunctioning defrost sensor. If the error code is on the right then it is the defrost sensor in the upper chamber.

Attached is a link to Avanti service and parts. Provide them with the model number of your wine cellar and they will be able to provide you with a price and information on the part needed for repair.

If you have the owner's manual or are able to speak with a service technician through Avanti, then this can be a diy repair.

E4 code for lower chamber of danby wine cooler

I had the same problem on my DWC513BLS wine cooler (12 years after your original post). I fixed mine after much troubleshooting. If someone have a similar problem, here are the error codes for that unit :

E4 = Defrost sensor defect
E3 = Defrost sensor disconnected
E1 = Lower chamber sensor disconnected
E2 = Lower chamber sensor defect
E7 = Upper chamber sensor disconnected
E8 =Upper chamber sensor defect

To correct E4, I had to replace the defrost sensor with part #DWC276.

Hello, I have BW40 wine cooler. On the display is blinking error message "E2". I have tried to switch off and switch on, but it doesn't helped. Thanks for you support in advance. br, Zoltan

There are 2 sensors in this wine cooler. Malfunction of each leads to E1 or E2 fault codes. One is easily accessible inside the fridge (small white torpedo sensor with pair of wires attached). The second but identical sensor is buried within the foam on the rear of the cooler. Unplug from mains, take of the electrics from back of cooler, take off sheet metal back and the sensor will be deep in the foam and can be replaced easily after digging out some foam. When replaced make sure the sensor is in the same place it stops the cooler icing up. Use gap-fill foam to keep insulation good. Dr_Nicholas

Danby Wine Cooler

If you are getting the E4 error code, try replacing the defrost sensor. The part might take forever to get to you, but we replaced the sensor on the wine cooler and it's working.
