1. Regarding the remote control for your electric fireplace, I hope you have installed a fresh battery / fresh batteries in it and tried it again.
2. If you have not yet contacted Walmart directly and asked about obtaining a replacement remote control for your electric fireplace, then, I suggest you do so. I hope you have the sales receipt for the fireplace. If not, the information here may be instructive:

We have had this same problem with our heater. But I went online to find out where I could purchase replacement parts. The company that sold the fireplace went out of business. I also went on-line to try and fine a universal replacement part. So far no help to be found.
