How do you cut the continuous binding pattern from a Butterick pattern, it contains lines on the pattern, it does not tell you to use transfer paper and roller? Do you have to transfer the lines to the fabric?
Not sure what you are asking. Do you want to know how to cut your own binding? It is easiest to use a ruler and rotary cutter. Most often, the binding is cut on the bias. Bias binding wears better and has more flexibility when sewing it on.
There are some very handy methods to cut bias binding.

I did not get the answer to my question. I did use R.A.Ellis' suggestion, though. I had already pinned the pattern and cut the fabric per what little directions were given. I had to unpin and draw lines with a tailor pencil using the suggested method and discard the pattern piece for this particular project. The pattern should have indicated that I use tracing paper and wheel to transfer lines to fabric. Thank you for your help!

This problem is usually when the lower blade drops below the sewing plate. Look at the blade in relation to the plate and see if it has dropped below the plate, then you can reset the blade. If it is not the upper blade may be too dull to cut so it will need to be replaced.
