Pleas Help! Our Nakajima Electronic Typewriter ribbon seems to not advance sufficiently for it to print legibly.

The ribbon stays almost on the same place when typing words that is why the letters have broken lines. The mark on the ribbon shows that the ribbon does not advance sufficiently for it to print full lines on the letters. The mark on the ribbon is on the upper side of the ribbon and not on the center. Usually the mark should be on the center of the ribbon.

The typewriter is set in P.S. mode instead of 10 or 12. This switch is in lower left corner of keyboard.

Hellooo.
2 thing come to mind you may check.
First check the ribbon cartridge to see if it is empty..These are usually a one time ribbon...and has to be replaced when empty.
2nd make sure the cartridge is snapped in properly and seated, and also the printwheel lever must be snapped (pushed forward) in order for everything to be aligned. if the typewriter has a correction tape (white or clear) make sure it is not interfering with the ribbon.
Lastly the ribbon drive may be broken or out of adjustment. a minor repair.
Hope this helps...

The forms obviously have a glossy surface, a fabric or multi strike ribbon will work. There is a impression control oh the l. side of the keyboard and also a bold feature, try max impression and bold.

I have this type nakajima ae-830, i so confuse why i can typing on my keyboard, but at my paper just blank and no one letters show at my paper. Any idea?

If you are typing on your Nakajima AE-830 typewriter but nothing is appearing on the paper, it is possible that there is an issue with the typewriter's print mechanism. Here are some things you can check to try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the ribbon: Make sure that the typewriter ribbon is properly installed and is not worn or dry. If the ribbon is not properly installed, or if it is too old and dry, it may not be transferring ink to the paper. Consider replacing the ribbon with a new one.
  2. Check the print mechanism: Look closely at the print mechanism to see if any parts are jammed or misaligned. Make sure the print hammer is making contact with the ribbon and paper. If any parts are jammed or misaligned, carefully unjam or realign them.
  3. Check the paper feed: Make sure the paper is properly loaded and is feeding correctly through the typewriter. Make sure the paper is not jammed or wrinkled, and that the paper release lever is set correctly.
  4. Check the print settings: Check to see if the typewriter is set to the correct print mode. Some typewriters have a "stencil" mode that allows you to type without transferring ink to the paper. Make sure the typewriter is set to the correct mode for printing.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to take the typewriter to a qualified technician for diagnosis and repair.

My Nakajima typewriter prints too light - like the keys don't hit the ribbon hard enough to be solid.

Go to nadist.com you will find a manual there with impression control instructions.

The typewriter doesn't completely print the whole letter, only sometimes and sporadic and not all letters are affected. Cleaned platen, and checked print wheel . All letters seem to be raised. What could...

Fiest put in a milti part form and try it if the copies are good you have a ribbon problem.
Try it without the correction tape. Look at the ribbon to see if it has folds in it or the letters are overstriking on the ribbon

The L/O should be dry non tacky.

Nakajima typewriter model AE830. New ribbon installed. when typing printed letters appear only lightly printed on paper. Any way to adjust?

Check to see if the ribbon is moving, then advance the ribbon manually about 6 inches, the ribbon may be old and they do go bad especially the exposed part. If the ribbon isn't advancing Code peroid, comma or slash will get you out of the overstrike mode.
