SOURCE: Plunge router manual

I have had incredible success over the years calling Sears product Help Line-usually Parts
-they have sent me numerous manuals for 20+ year old lawn mowers, rototillers, and snowblowers
-their after-market service makes me consider purchasing new products from them
...but I enjoy buying through auctions.....and hunting for manuals when I need them :)

-contact them at 1-800-366-PART (1-800-366-7278)
-they will be able to help or transfer you to the right place

best of luck

SOURCE: how to attach 'plunge lock lever' to Bosch 1617

I have been repairing the Bosch tools for quite a few years and I still hate putting those levers on. Unfortunatly, there are no "tricks", you just have to set the spring in the lever then use a small screw driver to set the other end in its slot. Then try to rotate the whole thing untill the lever goes into the proper notch. It usually takes me 5 or 6 times to get it in, sometimes it goes in first time (rare). Sometimes I'm at it for 1/2 an hour.

Good Luck

What hp router is best to make cabinet raised doors

I used to use a Ryobi 2.5 hp and it worked fine but if you are concerned go higher hp. It's probably more important that the router is a variable speed model. The bigger the size of cutter required for raised panel doors the more torque and revs are produced. You need to ensure starting on slowest speed and adjust up to speed required. Speed should be based on size of cutter and to me is set by sound( a nice hum, not screaming) and vibration( NO VIBRATION)! The cut needs to be done in several passes, maintaining constant feed speed,( don't burn your expensive cutter) allowing cutter and machine to do work maintaining the hum and no vibration. And of course set your guards etc!! If this is on going work for you perhaps look into a spindle moulder with attachment to take router cutters

Dw621 pulsing speed problem

Try to start it at various speeds. Use contact cleaner on the switch, and the variable speed control resistor.

Plunge router is stuck in the router base. Porter Cabe 891 router is stuck in the plunge base. Released the buckle and won't come out. What to do? Thanks, Joe

If you are talking about the nut tap on it with a hammer, if you are talking about the tubes you can try cleaning them with air and then using some lubricating fluid to free up the piston/springs. Let me know if you need more help

I just received a 693 plunge router via internet order. As soon as i took out the plunge part out of the case and moved the lever it pupped up and now will not move up or down > Is there something I am...

The plunge base is spring loaded. When you move the lever is springs to the up position. To lower it place the base on a flat surface, press and hold the lever down and push down on the handles. The router bit height should be set on the depth rod with the base in the down position. Then release it to the up position. When you have positioned the bit where you want it on the work piece, press the lever and "plunge" the bit down into the workpiece. The depth rod setting will stop the bit at the depth you set it for.

The plunge lock "slips" when the router is used in a table

You can try to adjust the lever that moves the plunge and see if that helps, but a plunge router isn't made for upside use. If you have the option and use the router upside down often, you may want to get a fixed base.
