Reset Roku without Remote:

Soft Reset

From Menus (Newer Models - 4, Premier, & Ultra)
1. From the Home screen, select "Settings" > "System" > "Power" > "System restart".

Using Button (Older Models)
1. Find the "Reset" button on the back or bottom of the device. Some models will require a paper-clip to press the button.
2. Press the button, then release after about one second. The device should reset successfully.

Power Pull If none of the above soft reset options work for you, you may need to disconnect the power cord for about 20 seconds, then plugging it back in.

Hard Reset

A hard reset will clear all settings from the device and reset it to factory defaults.

Via Menu (Newer Models - 4, Premier, & Ultra) If a soft reset doesn't fix your problem, a hard reset may be your only option. This will clear all data off the Roku and reset it to factory default settings.

From the Home screen, select the following depending on your device:
1. "Settings" > "System" > "Advanced system settings" > "Factory reset".
2. "Settings" > "Factory reset" > "Factory reset" > "Yes".

Using Button (Older Models)

1. Remove all cables except the Power cord.
2. Press and hold the "Reset" button on the back or bottom of the device for about 20 seconds. Some models will require a paper clip to press the button.
3. Continue to hold the "Reset" button, then remove the Power cord from the back of the unit.
4. Release the "Reset" button, then plug all of the cords back into the device.
The Roku should factory reset, then walk you through the setup process again.

SOURCE: lost remote

Actually I found there are several remotes that work. The first is the Bright House networks remote, the larger one...The second is The Universal Remove Control by GE. It's numbered 24944 in the upper right hand corner of the paper. It's sold for $4.94 at Walmart in the checkout area...

I found that manually inputting the code for the remote doesn't work. You have to do a search for the code using their method...on this particular remote from Walmart, its hold the setup button down until it lights up, then press and depress the TV button...then press channel up until the TV changes channels. It worked once, but I just kept going, the 2nd time it worked, then I pressed the mute button [to keep the code] and it simply press input and it switches to AV.

I have to admit I thought it was ridiculous that you can't use this particular TV without the remote, but I was happy that I went through the effort the first time to keep trying remotes...

This is the first kids TV that I have found that you can't find the AV channel by going through the channels AND you can't hook up two items to the AV outlets because you have to disconnect the back or front ones, to use the other....PLUS it only comes with a dual AV outlet, instead of the 3 plugs [red, white, yellow] only has the white and yellow.

A disappointing TV to say the least.

How do i reset my channels on my tcl roku tv

First, I'm not a ROKU tech. Call Roku support for service.
*** Following is for information only ***
* Use your remote. Got to Menu and select channel set up. Proceed through the set up.
* Use the remote to reset to factory settings and reset. Perform set up. (many smart sets have a built in guide to walk you though this process. Using it makes things go smoother and you will learn how to take short cuts in the process.)
* If your talking about specific internet web based sites then you will need to follow the start up instructions.

Roku 2 remote won't work

If you have a Wi-Fi Roku remote or a bluetooth Roku Remote, the remote needs to be paired with the unit first before you can control the device. To pair the unit with the remote, you can do the following:

  1. Turn off the Roku player for 30 seconds by unplugging the power cord from the power outlet.
  2. Once you have the bouncing Roku on your TV screen, open the battery compartment of the remote and press the purple button there once.
  3. The Led on the remote should start blinking.
  4. Leave the Led blinking and don't press any button on your Roku remote.
  5. Wait for the Led to stop blinking.
  6. Once the Led stopped blinking, try to test any button and see if it works.
