Go to your inbox...go to a message and select ok to read it....press the button that is right above the call/answer button (the green one)....the button that is the 2nd one down from the left...you should see your options to delete somewhere there....

Be certain that you deleted messages in your Outbox as well as the MMS Inbox and Outbox if you have them on the phone as well.

What kind of cell phone is it? Is it a smartphone?
If you're an iPhone user and have created a backup of iTunes for your phone, you will be able to recover text messages at ease. What you need are only 3 simple steps.

1. Plug iPhone into computer via the USB cable. iTunes will launch automatically, if not, you should open it manually.
2. Click "File > Device > Restore from Backup", and choose the iPhone backup in the pop-up window.
3. iTunes will start to restore the data in the backup to your iPhone. Sometimes it will ask you to enter your Apple ID to accomplish the restoring process.
