Hello you will need to remove the back panel a lot of t20 torq screws then once the back panel comes of you will see the resetable thermostat on the right side just by the heater it will have a button on it right in the middle usually red just press this until you hear a click. If the stat has tripped check you vent it may be blocked or you may need a vent clean this part tripes when the dryer over heats.

Ok there could be several things preventing it from heating, here is a list gas valves, heat limit switches, bad thermostat, bad sensor. Time to open it up and get to testing. Sorry but this not one with a simple answer..

Dryer seems to get too hot even with low heat selected.

Just a thought. Move the drier away from the wall if it close to it and try again. If the air intake is reduced, it will cause the temp. to rise significantly.Also, chech and see if intake andor exhaust is not dirty.
