This happens when the blue channel of the VGA cable doesn't work. This can be by an internal defect or by a defective cable. Since you changed the cable already, its the connector.
when you try the menu, does the pink still stay there. what happens if you try a video source with a dvd connected.
ie is this only a PC to projector pink issue.
Is it entirely pink or does everything have a purplish tint? Check the settings. If you are connected using component or VGA, make sure that the unit is set to RGB rather than YPrPb.
The pink tint produced by my LP70+ projector was not a lamp issue but a connectivity issue. I swapped the old cable with a good known cable and the tint went away.
when you have a tint on the projector its not a lamp issue, it is a connectivity issue you have to check the cables if they are connected firmly, or swap the cables with good known cables , if this doesn't help you have to send the projector to infocus repair center, since it is a DLP projector this may require engine /major repair
Check the green signal lead - if one of the RGB leads doesn't make good contact, the picture will take on an odd tint that doesn't always look like it's missing one of those colours. For some reason, the green is always the most common one to fail.
