SOURCE: green light, black screens, no sound, needs new battery???

The alarm is just a coincidence i suspect, green light comes on and stays on probably not the battery at fault. It would be red.
If the green light goes out and screens just flash one of your screens are at fault or a loose ribbon connection.

SOURCE: Laptop Turning On But Nothing Happens - Replaced Memory

This does sound like a memory problem, and it more likely that a memory chip is bad versus the memory slot. The slots will be numbered 1&2, the memory will generally work in either, but the 1 slot is preferred. Try starting with just one chip in, try both slots, then try the other chip. It may just be one chip that is bad. If it is the slot, it shouldn't hurt the chip, but the motherboard will need replaced in order to fix it.

SOURCE: Blank screen with cycling colours (no BIOS; no POST)

Try running diagnostics. Tap F12 repeatedly on the dell logo till you get the boot device menu. Choose diagnostics. Go through it.

If it doesnt even pull up the diagnostics, you can follow this walkthrough from dell's website.

SOURCE: COMPAQ ARMADA E500 WON'T TURN ON!

It happened to me and I went on the HP site and found how to fix it. Under the keyboard you can find the ram. If you take out the battery and disconnect it from the mains, then take the ram out and put it back in again, it can sometimes solve the problem. If not then there's something wrong with something else inside it.

SOURCE: "z" light comes on, then battery charge indicator -Doesn't start!

Hi,
If there no indicator of power on the laptop , There could be two problems either the AC adapater is bad or the motherboard connector pin or board is faulty.
If you see power light activity , but the screen is blank. try connecting an external monitor to the laptop. Press the Fn+ F8 key to toggle the screen to the external display. If you see the display on the external screen then the LCD is bad . Otherwise its your video card.

Thanks for using fixya

PA3X. Why does it shut off on its own?

Right away or after it's been working awhile? Try coolant spray on power supply components.

Why does screen go black and keyboard and mouse no longer work?

Hello,

I'm not sure what Operating System you are using on your PC. But from what I can see, you might be using Windows XP, Vista and/ or 7. This kind of abnormality usually happens when the computer is infected with a Trojan or Malware. Is your antivirus software upto date and functioning well? Scan your PC and clean it fine.

If this still happens, you might be having some malfunctioned hardware; Motherboard, Ram, Keyboard or Mouse. Check these carelefully to ensure that they are working great.

Lastly, if this still happens, your Operating system might be having way too many errors that it might call for a re-installation. Backing up data and doing a clean re-installation might be something to look at.

Please let me know on how it all goes.

I can`t load the OS in my KORG PA 80. No way to make it work. I think than the problem is the mother board.

Have you tried it with batteries? Are you sure the power supply is working correctly? It should not need the OS to operate as a keyboard disconnected from the computer.

The cable connection is just a MIDI cable that uses opto-isolators so the 2 items are electrically isolated from each other. The software driver for the Korg should load without problem. The Korg program itself may be looking for inputs that are not there when the keyboard is off and the program itself reaches a stop command.

If the PA80 will not work on just the power supply- the power supply can be the fault- it has an internal fuse. Finding a similar supply with the same coaxial plug wired the same polarity is the way to test it if the battery option is not available.

WHEN I TURN MY WINDOWS XP ON IT HAS A BLACK SCREEN WITH WHITE WRITING SAYING, WE APPOLOGIZE FOE THIS INCONVENIENCE, , BUT WINDOWS DID NOT START SUCCESSFULLY. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT...

Try safe mode.
If that works, there is a card or software that has failed.
Checking the cards is easy, take them out one at a time and restart, for motherboard features, shut them down one at a time.
For software, did you load anything new, even updates, if so remove them.
Mine turned out to be a bad PCI card for a scanner.
