Sir i am mecania from india and i request u to solve my problem when i give supply the toaster do not stay down i have clean the whole toaster but not able to come out of this situation so plz can u help me
The release mechanism contains a bimetallic strip that snaps open when a certain amount of power goes through it based on the setting. When cold, it should trap the toast loading lever mechanism. If not, it may be broken or bent. Don't work on it with power applied

Most of the time this problem is caused by a build-up of toast crumbs in the latch mechanism. Unplug the toaster oven and follow the instruction manual directions for cleaning the toaster section. Try cycling the toaster lever up and down a few times, then clean out the crumb tray again. If that doesn't solve the problem, you'll have to look for an access to the latch mechanism to clean it out and perhaps gently straighten the latch hook if needed. Note: these are generic directions for all such toasters. I can't be more specific without knowing which model in the Waring Pro line you have.
remove from the electricity supply remove crumb tray, remove bottom 4 os 6 screws. at the bottom of the toaster there is what liooks like a flat fish hook that engages with the handle when you push the handle down to start toasting. clean around this and try to get it to engage when you push the handle down, it wont stay down unless the electricity is connected but dont plug it in as you will probably kill your self!! put it back together abd try it if it does not work 4 slice toaster from Tesco £9.99

Hi, I assume that you had the toast carriage pushed down when you check the solenoid (hold down coil) volts ? .. a bit dangerous to try though Either way, try resoldering the solenoid connections, they can develop hairline cracks that limit the current.
