Desperate , why that? are you in uSA>???? locations matter.!!!
its an old monitor , buy a new one, and end this love of old Compaq's
yous posted with on only the word ribbon, why?
the cable on the outside, is a round heavy VGA cable.
so is not a ribbon
so that tells me you took this old monitor apart, right?
and broke or lost a ribbon?
the only parts for this is used off EBAY.

i looked for you, and see none, its old and now rare. 2001 made.
16 long long years ago, and now forgotten by all..
buy a new monitor, its not work spending case on old things.
see $60 monitors? here in USA>

tell me how can you fix something and beat that price.
lacking parts, is impossible.

SOURCE: Proper Monitor Cable needed and PS Cable!

Hi Maestro_mark,

These cables can be bought at a store where they deal in PC's and any such high end electronics.

No specifications needed. Just tell the dealer the model number of your monitor and ask for the required cables. If he has a manual the he should refer it if he too is doubtful about anything.
That's all.

There is something pluged in wrong in my Compaq Presario SR5130NX tower and i need a picture showing how to plug in all the drives to the motherbord

If its an IDE cable (Flat wide one) ensure the last drive (Operating system) one is plugged in here set to MASTER, with the slave drive connected along this ribbon set to SLAVE.

If SATA cable usually narrow and red plug into any SATA port on the mobo, doesnt matter which order.

Monitor turns off: Light goes from green to yellow

Check first your signal cable from cpu to monitor, reseat or retighten its nut. Or test it using an spare monitor, if this also happens. If it does not then its practical to have the monitor be replaced.

Other way around like fixing its cable is also a consideration it maybe also a broken connection.

Color problem

IT is 18 years OLD so has CCFL back lamps that all turn yellow.
is that it? if the OSD is yellow the (white looks yellow) that means the CCFL black lamp tubes are Shot.
i cant see what you see, no photos posted.

ok the monitor has and OSD, on screen display
i see you found that. but then fail to say what you saw there.
"you could see the background on the text as white. "

what does that mean,?
no matter what that is a bad Monitor.
the OSD works with no computer at all, so if the OSD fails
OSD brain, inside, then the monitor is bad.
all monitors worked previously so is not key to why its failing now.
only the tests now, matter. today/

my post above is for any monitor that fails the OSD tests
no PC turned off. or connected to any PC that works
the PC resolution must never exceed

1024 × 768 at 75 Hz Refresh Rate

on this old old dog. or the screen goes back with error
OUT OF RANGE.

Notebook screen lines

IT may be simple as reseating the ribbon cable on the side of the LCD display- the initial problem indicated that, but now the cable may have become totally unseated. Otherwise it may be just a bad cable. Try plugging the Laptop into a CRT or external monitor, if the picture is fine, reseat or replace the connecting cable to the LCD panel in the laptop. Kegtapper
