Frigidaire oven 3 years old temperature rises up by itself to almost broil

Is this an electric oven? Sound like a bad breaker to me if it is.

Hello angeleyez82 - The EOC (electronic oven control/control board) basically sends power to both the broil and bake elements. As long as the power supply to the range (240VAC) and wiring between the elements is correct, then typically only the element(s) or EOC could prevent the unit from heating. I hope this information helps to some degree.

would check to make sure both your broil and bake ignitors are working. On some, but not all, both come on to preheat, and then the broil shuts off. Another, and more likely culprit would be the temperature sensor located in the oven itself. Its the silverish metal rod protruding from the back wall inside the oven. It could be bad and not converting heat/elsectrical signal properly causing the main control to regulate the temperature incorrectly.If the sensor you are talking about is the oven temperature sensor than its just as easy, since you are behind the machine already, to take off the back panal, unplug the sensor and measure resistance there. Either way the resistance should read around 1099-1100 ohms.even a small margine off can cause a major temperature difference.

I wish I had a solution for you...unfortunately I don't. However, if you know anywhere I might find a thermostat knob for this model I would be eternally grateful. I've been searching for 2 years for my mother. It's the knob with 5 settings (off, bake, broil, time-bake and clean).

Possibly the bake igniter, the temperature sensor or the electronic oven clock/control. Does broil mode heat properly or does it run cool also? If broil heats to the proper temperature then the temperature sensor is probably ok. That leaves the ignitor or the controller which takes some more troubleshooting. Sometimes, according to what I've seen.  My theory is that the elements are probably covered in grime and this causes the damage.  As far as the control...I don't think that makes sense.
Never use cleaner on the elements..also causes damage.
A typical duty cycle for cleaning is 2- 2.5 hours.  Longer and you could burn them up, too.
