The remote works I get sound and the TV program information but I've pressed a button and don't know which one and I have lost the picture Help please

I don't mean to be smart. but the best option for you is to go buy a new remote from wal-mart. As this remote sounds like it is an off brand remote and you will most likely never find the instructions for it.

In case you already have a code available I will provide both instructions to address the remote, and how to power scan the code in.

Addressing Remote to
TV: 1.) Press and hold the clear TV button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and TV light will be blinking.
3.) Enter code and press #. The TV button should flash 3 times.
4.) Try functions (Volume, Power, etc..) and see if working.
5.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.

Power Scan to TV:
1.) With the TV on, press and hold the TV button (about six seconds) on top of the remote until all mode button backlights come on, then release.
2.) Press and release the red power button, then press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the TV. If the code for the TV comes up, it will power off.
3.) Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times. To verify the code works try several different functions for that equipment.

allday70, we don't have any current codes for a Haier TV, but we can definitely check it out and help you get that programming.

As there are no codes for that TV, I would recommend trying a power scan. I have posted the steps below, though you can view this link: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup for general information on setting up remotes.

Power Scan to TV:

1.) With the TV on, press and hold the TV button (about six seconds) on top of the remote until all mode button backlights come on, then release.
2.) Press and release the red power button, then press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the TV. If the code for the TV comes up, it will power off.
3.) Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times. To verify the code works try several different functions for that equipment.

Not knowing the code, you'll have to do it using the Automatic Code Search method.


1. Turn the TV ON manually.

2. Press and release the TV button on your remote. The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn on and stay on.

3. Press and hold both the TV and the ON-OFF buttons. The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn off, and then will come back on.

4. Release both buttons after the ON-OFF button turns back on. The button should remain on.

5. Press and release the PLAY button. You may have to do it several times. Be patient.
If the TV does not respond after five seconds, continue to press and release the PLAY button every five seconds until the TV turns off.

6. Just to check the code is right, after the TV turns off, press and release the REVERSE button then wait to see if the TV turns on again.

If that works, you've got it!

Press and release the STOP button to save the new code.

The followings are using TV device as example:

If you know the TV code:

Turn on TV -> Press and Hold [Code Search] button until the indicater light is on then release -> Press [TV] button -> Enter the 3-digit TV code to see the indicater light off to complete.
(You may want to test it using the [Off.On] button to see if the TV is turned off.

If you don't know the TV code:

Turn on TV -> Press and Hold [Code Search] button until the indicater light is on then release -> Press [TV] button -> Press and release [Off.On] button as many as 200 times until the TV is turned off -> Press the [Enter] Button to see the indicater light off to complete.

It sounds like the remote would need to be programmed to the receiver itself. It may have lost it's programming when the TV code was put in.

To program remote to Satellite:
1. Access System Information screen.
2. Note the # on the bottom where it was Secondary Remote Address.
3. Hold SAT until all buttons on top of the remote light up.
4. Let go and while it's blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press #
5. Press record 3 times and test remote.

Hello absolutel888, my name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. Sounds like the remote lost authorization with the receiver and needs to be reprogrammed to the receiver. In order to program the remote to the receiver you would have to have the System Information screen on your TV. To get to the System Information screen would have to access the receiver menu. Since the remote isn't programmed at this time. Try to take the Smartcard out of the receiver and leave it out then the System Information screen will be on your TV. Look at the Remote Address box and take note of the number. Hold the Sat button on your DISH remote until all the lights on top of the remote light up. Let go of the Sat button. Then press a number between 1-15. Once number is typed in press # and then record. If there isn't a Smartcard try the menu button on the front of your receiver and follow the same steps. For your tv you can use a power scan to program the remote to it here are the steps: With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until all mode button backlights illuminate, then release. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressing and releasing the Power button. Press 0 for a TV, Press 1 for a VCR/DVD and Press 2 for any other device. Then Press STAR (*). Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off. Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

To have the remote try each TV code it knows one at a time, follow these steps:

1. Turn on your TV.
2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button for at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up and stays lit.
3. Press the TV button on the remote so that the LED blinks once and then remains solid red.
4. Press the ON/OFF button slowly and repeatedly until the TV turns off. The LED will blink once each time you press the ON/OFF button.
   
5. Once the TV turns off, press the ENTER button to store the code and the LED will turn off.
   

To program the remote for your VCR, repeat this process starting with turning the VCR on, then follow the steps substituting the VCR button for the TV button.

the red light will blink once.press and hold down the setup key untill red light blinks twice then release.enter the code the led light will blink once on each digit execpt the last one will blink twice to confirm valid code ****mode 1 is for the tv on this remote.
