SOURCE: Rice cooker stopped working

Sounds like the Thermal Fuse inside is blown unscrew the 2 screws on bottom of the cooker you should see a small 2.5 inch insulation wrapped wire leaving a ceramic mounting block to one of the element poles. Now you take off the nut and unscrew it from the pole. Cut off the insulation and underneath will be a Thermal Fuse. If you have a Ohm Meter or a continuity tester attach each lead to either side and it probably will test negative. Part # is written on the Thermal Fuse. Probably a

SOURCE: I need cooking instructions for RC3406 6 cup rice cooker

I ran into the same problem locating this manual. Black and Decker has the manual for the 3 cup on their site but not the 6 cup. I did find a manual for the Rival brand version which appears to be the same thing. You can find it at the URL

I have s Sanyo ECJ-S35S rice cooker does not heat up. When I press Start/Cook button it keep flashing and light does not stay on. Any idea what I can do?

A rice cooker that doesn't cook anymore usually requires a thermal cutoff replaced. They act like a fuse and look like a resister. Look underneath it is crimped to one of the leads but perhaps underneath some braided insulation. Purchase another cutoff at an electronics components store (not radioshack). If there is not a rating on it try 185 degrees celcius.

Hi I was wondering if there's been any known problems with the rice cooker type "Tiger JAE-A18U 10-Cup Rice Cooker" and not being able to cook rice? I have this model and it only seems to be...

Have you tried scrubbing the inside (heating surface). Make sure there is no burnt on stuff on it and on the middle sensor (CENTER OF THE UNIT). I usually use a green scrubber with Comet. Also make sure that the bottom of the rice insert (outside) is clean.

I have a Sanyo EC 23 10-Cup Rice Cooker which I bought long time ago. Never been used. The electrical cord is missing. Can I order a replacement electrical cord if this model is discontinued?

Hi,

I have the electrical cable, you are looking for.

My favorite Sanyo EC-23 rice cooker's start button broke when it fell down. (I am looking for a similar cooker with OFF switch.) So, I can easily send my electrical cord for no cost (pl. pay only mailing cost $1 or $2, I need to find out).

Why I am going through this trouble? 1. I liked the cooker. I am still looking for a similar one. 2. This is the best for the environment (reusability). I like this web site for the same reason. I liked the cooker a lot and was useful for more than cooking rice. It will be nice if someone can use the parts.

I live in MA. I can go to Natick Mall, Watertown mall, cambridge Galleria in a public place next to security if you like, to pick up in person Mon-Fri between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm.

Rice cooker keep feature turns rice crispy

This sounds like the thermostat inside the unit has went out and is overheating whitch in turn is cooking your rice too fast and too hot! if the thermostat is replaced it will cook the rice even again!

How do I use the salton ra10 rice cooker.

It came with a small plastic measuring cup. The ratio for that is 1 cup rice to 1 cup water (using the measuring cup for both items). Measure out your rice first, BUT for best results you need to rinse your rice several times (I do three times or until the water is fairly clear). Place rinsed rice in cooker and add equal amout of water . You can also add in your butter and salt at this time if you wish. put lid on cooker, plug it in and push the little lever down (it'll click). It will cook for about 20 minutes and the lever will pop up on its own. Don't do anything yet! you need to wait about 10-15 minutes more, or at least until the steam stops before you open the lid. The rice should be cooked perfectly.
There will (with this model) be a light brown crust on the bottom of the pan, butthe instruction manual said that it was a normal occurance (but it is a buggar to get that off-soaking for a couple hours helps).
I really like using rice cookers because they do a great job in cooking the rice. I hope this clarified how to use this model.

Salton RA3 3-Cup Rice Cooker Question

Put equal amounts rice and water (up to 3 cups only) in liner pot, plug in, put lid on, flip little front switch. 10-15 minutes later it will be done and the pot will switch to "warm" mode by itself. Gently fluff with paddle before serving. You can also add salt or other seasonings to the water/rice mixture before starting.
