SOURCE: Janome Needle plate and needles hitting something underneath

The broken pins are called chaining pins and are tricky for the home user to replace without risking damage to the needle plate as they are difficult to remove and the tiny burr used to hold them firm can easily open up and no longer grip the pin.
There are only a couple of things under the needleplate that are likely to collide with the needles. 1. Lower looper - with the needles 2. Both Loopers colliding with each other - not with the needles 3. Needle guards attached to lower looper - with the needles 4. Fixed Needle guard - with the needles
If you remove the needleplate and VERY gently turn the handwheel you should be able to see and feel where the collision is occuring and have a better idea of the issue.
I would strongly advise that you do not try to operate the machine until you are sure that the colliding components are adjusted. Broken loopers are approx $65 AUD and guards, tho' only about $20 AUD require some finesse in adjustment. Chain Pins approx $6 AUD
My recommendation is to speak with your local Janome dealer for advice and an approximate price to repair, replace or adjust as the case may be.
Your country's Janome website is certain to have a Dealer Locator page to list the nearest to you.
This is one occasion where it is sensible to call on the people who do these things routinely rather than try to DIY and make a more expensive hash of it.

SOURCE: the needle hits the bottom

Actually, first make sure you have the needle in properly... take it out, then replace it taking special care to hold it straight up and down. If that doesn't work, then the screws on your plate may be loose or one is missing, so manually shift the plate back to where it needs to be and tighten screws.

Are you inserting the needle fully into clamp? You may have a bad lot of needles that werent straight. Try sewing by hand with machine to see exactly where and when needle breaks, then you might be able to solve problem.

How do I time a bobbin hook on a 153W Singer

all sewing machines are basically the same, the hook that rotates to pick the cotton up off the needle must just enter behind the needle when it's on it's way back up which then grabs the cotton to form the stitch, so you must remove the sole plate to expose the shuttle case remove the shuttle and put to one side, now rotate the hand wheel on the sewing machine in the correct rotation and watch the hook rotate round until it goes behind the needle, just as the needle is starting back up from it's lowest position the hook should just be going behind the needle to pick up the cotton, if this is not the case then loosen the screws that clamp the hook assembly to the shaft and rotate the hook assembly gently until the hook is just going behind the needle and make sure the hook is close to the needle before retightening the clamping crews , and final give it a few turns by hand to make sure the hook locates the same all the time and the hook is not catching the needle, when your happy, then reassemble.

I cannot get the top needle thread to pick up the bobbin thread on a Singer 404. I have the manual online and can see that I have loaded everything properly, but the bobbin thread just sits there when I...

Hi Jennifer:

Do you understand how a stitch is formed on a sewing machine? The needle goes down to its full down position. At that point the shuttle hook should be pointing right at the needle scarf, ready to go past it as the needle starts to go up.

When the needle starts its upward travel it forms a loop... the shuttle hook enters the loop and the bobbin thread is "captured" in that loop.

If your machine's timing is advanced, the needle will hit the hook and break or make nasty thumping noises. If your timing is ********.... the hook misses the loop entirely and does nothing.

So... open up the entire bobbin/throat plate area.... take the foot off so you can see. Clean if necessary. Then turn the hand wheel by hand until you see that the needle is at the lowest point of travel. Where is the shuttle hook?

From there you'll have to use your logic to find the right screws and adjust the hook.

Here' is a Parts Chart for your machine.

Good luck!

Brother 1120 sewing machine timing adjustment

Easy to do remove sole plate remove shuttle and case, don't forget to pull the spring loaded plate to one side by inserting a electrical screw driver in the slot and twisting it anticlockwise to release the case, remove drive dogs this will the expose the cotton pickup assembly turn the hand wheel anticlockwise until the hook gets close to the needle now watch the needle it should be in the lowest position and just as it starts it's way back up the hook should be just going behind the needle to pick up the tread if this is not the case and it's out of position then hold the hand wheel tight and insert a small screw driver into one of the gaps in the base were the shuttle case fits in away that you are able to move the hook assembly one way or the other with a gentle pressure and move the hook just to make it enter just behind the needle as it only just starts it's way up at this position it is now complete and you can reassemble and run slowly at first just to make sure things are okay.

Euro pro 9125 light not working for sewing plate...appears to be a computer board can I fix tthis myself by ordering a new green board

Are you sure that it is not just a bulb replacement, does your manual tell you it is the board? Why not call Euro-pro and ask first because you are talking a lot of money as opposed to $3-$4.? Their phone number is 1-800-798-7395. Good luck, it seems like a nice machine.
