I have a Nordictrack C1500 that shuts off frequently in use. The belt doesn't necessarily have to be moving - the treadmill will just shut off and sometimes come back on.
The Nordictrack C1500 will often power off in use. The fuse is not tripped. Sometimes it will come right back on, with all the data reset, and sometimes I have to unplug it for a while for it to come back on. Sometimes I can get a half hour out of it, and sometimes I can't get a second. It may be cold related, since it's in a garage and started doing it when the temperatures started getting into the 40s.

see if you can remove the motor hood and look at the drive belt. it is a little belt from the motor to the front pulley to turn the walking belt. its either broke or fell off
I had a similar problem. Mine was shutting off and also some of the buttons worked intermittently. I thought it was overheating so I bought a small fan and I even went so far as to drill holes in the cover near the motor so the fan would cool the motor better. Turns out it was the console overlay. I purchased a new one from the Treadmill Doctor since NordicTrack will only sell you the entire console, not just the overlay and they want somewhere north of $400 for it. All I had to do was remove the console cover, unplug the old console overlay, peel it off and then stick the new one on and plug it in and I've had no problem since then. It's been over 5 years now since I did this and if I recall correctly the overlay was around $100. Good luck
