I would check the wires and push to talk switch for your microphone. Likely the continuity is broken due to either a broken connection at the plug, the wire itself, or the push to talk switch. Use an ohm meter with the microphone unplugged and put the two test leads of the ohm meter across the two pins on the microphone plug that controls the on off function. When you press the push to talk switch if the ohm meter does not read near zero ohms, your problem is in your mic connections,
Nope...That beep lets you know that you can commence talking. If you start talking before you hear the beep, whoever you're talking to will not hear everything you say.
Push to talk means you push the button by depressing it when you want to change the process from caller in to caller out. This changes the circuit instantly from Reception to Transmission.
14. Push to talk
Push to talk (PTT) is a two-way radio service available over a GPRS cellular network (network service).
You can use PTT to have a conversation with one person or with a group of people (channel) having compatible phones. While you are connected to the PTT service, you can use the other functions of the phone.
To check availability, costs, additional features and to subscribe to the service, contact your service provider. Roaming services may be more limited than for normal calls. This feature may not be available, depending on your phone.
For more information about signing up for the PTT services and the usage, contact your service provider.
To connect to the PTT service, select Menu > Push to talk > Switch PTT on.
LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE TO USE IT! hope this helps.
there is no button for push o talk just activate the mms/gprs and then used to another cellphone also have a push to talk feature.i think 10 meters away to connect the calling.
Button on side is not for answering calls.
PTT or Push To Talk allows you to use your mobile like a walkie talkie. It is dependant on your network operator running the service.
Quote from Pocket lint: To use the function you must first create a group or individual in your phone menu and send an SMS invitation to those you wish to join. Once your contacts are set up, your phone shows which members have their handsets switched on with push-to-talk enabled, in the same way that instant messaging works online. By pushing a single button on the handset, you are connected with one person or with your group. There is no need to dial numbers, nor do the recipients need to answer calls. You simply push a button and talk. As with a walkie-talkie, anyone in the group hears you almost instantaneously. The talking is one way with only one person able to speak at a time. Unlike walkie-talkies, which are infuriatingly dependent on distance, push-to-talk has no such limitations.
You should be able to disable PTT in the Nokia menu, which is best if your network doesn't support it. Plus you won't keep cutting off calls.
I believe you do not need to hold the monitor button when changing channels
Push the talk button till you have the channel you want then push monitor button to accept
Hope this works
