I have a problem with my curry essential dishwasher CDW60W13 The 1hour light keeps flashing what could this be I have no manual so I can't find out what this is in need of help please

I have a similar problem with my DW, hour light flashing and pump run constantly, and have located my problem.

The hand book points towards a faulty float switch, and this is fixed to the base plate of the machine.

First of all, disconnect the machines from the mains, then tilt the machine at an angle of approx 45 degrees and see if any water comes out onto the floor. If so, this indicates there is a leak causing the water to collect on the base plate, and activating the float switch.
I then removed the base plate (4 screws), take care removing this as the electrical connections restrict movement. Check the hoses underneath. I found a split in the black hose that connects the element to the pressure switch and top spray pipe.

I am now trying to source a new hose and hope to have the machine up and running again in a few days.

I have a Bosch Classixx slimline dishwasher. I completes most of the cylcle but trips out the electricsnear the end of the cycle - probably the drying cycle - any ideas Garry

Hello Garry,

I suspect the element in the water heater is either burning out or shorting to earth. If it's burning out, the increased resistance will cause an overload and trip the breaker or blow the fuse for that circuit. If it's shorting to earth, it may trip both the breaker and the RCD in your fuse box / consumer unit.

Next time it happens, check whether the RCD switch (assuming you have one) is in the 'OFF' position. Most breaker boxes will be fitted with an RCD which protects many, or all, of the individual circuits. It's easily identified by the presence of a 'TEST' button.

That's only going to be a clue to the likely cause of the fault though. You really need to do some testing of the element with an ammeter and/or multi-meter, if you have one. I can provide instructions for testing if you have the equipment and inclination.

Unfortunately, if it is the water heater, the cost of a replacement is about £100 for the part alone, for the SGS43C12. Water heaters for most other Bosch models are roughly the same price and some of the older models can be £130+. If you need to get someone in to fit it, you could be looking at a total bill of between £150-200. Considering the age of the SGS43C12 / Classixx, it may be time to consider replacing the dishwasher.

Obviously, I'm assuming it's the water heater as this is the most likely cause, but there are other possible faults. If you need any instructions on testing, etc, please confirm the correct model number as the SGS43C12 isn't a slimline model.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

I want to know what HO means on a frigidaire dishwasher?

it means the water is trying to heat up and it is taking longer than normal. Check your hot water heater to make sure it is heating properly. Do not use hot water in other areas at same time ..ie: washer, shower, etc. The HO will disappear once the water is heated to the proper level by the dishwasher.
