I bought a GE spectra oven from a friend. The oven was hardly used. the burners work perfectly but the oven light, clock and oven itself are notworking at all. One of wires (white) seems to be a bit black on the end. What can I do before I call in a "guy". thanks
My light and clock work, but the oven will not go on. I tried unplugging it for a while, but it still does not work. The stove top works fine.My light and clock work, but the oven will not go on. I tried unplugging it for a while, but it still does not work. The stove top works fine.

First thing to do is unplug the range for a couple minutes then plug it back in. In some rare cases this will reset the control. If this doesn't work then you will need to use a meter and check to see if you are getting proper voltage to the control (clock) and the light. If you are getting voltage to the clock then it is bad. Let me know what you find and give me the complete model # from the sticker on the range so I can look into this for you better.

Did you hear a "pop" or smell like something was burning? Sounds like old oven could have been 3 phase, and you new oven single phase, Check the power requirements for oven and see what kind of power you are supplying it with.
f 2 code states that oven has exccded 590 deg w/door in unlocked position or 990 f in locked . either the themp prop is bad or the relay in the EOC ( clock ) is welded closed . I would replace the prob first ( less expensive ) then the clock if needed .. **** ..
Your GE Spectra does NOT have a fuse, but it has a electronic control board, as well as elements. If both your elements heat up at all, then they are good. If you will contact us at: http://www.fixya.com/repair/d499389-accurate_appliance_repair_service we can discus the issues with your range and I will attempt to get you back up and running again soon.

Hi I have a older GE that the oven won't light. It is a gas range that is electric ignited. The top burners do work but the oven will not light. Is it pricey to have this fixed?
Resettle the small center tops on the burners. If even one is slightly off center or not level, a burner will not light, although it will click. Cost me a service call to learn this!
