Samsung wheezing/ Gasping sound.

The fridge is making an odd wheezing noise from the left rear. Does not go away when door open or closed. Does not sound to be a fan blade or motor. More like a check valve. I don't see any info on this. Any help?

Hi, no it's not constant. Lasts about 3-5 min from when I hear the noise again. Usually only hear it when it very quiet in the house. I will check to see if I increase the water pressure to the ice maker makes a difference. I have been thinking on the lines that lack of pressure may be causing a bleed down effect, causing air in the system. Thanks.

It is likely just refrigerant coursing through the coils, or maybe the water valve when it opens to fill the ice maker... Is it constant, or does it come and go at intervals?

LG LFX33975ST French Door Refrigerator, 32.5 cu. ft. Which fan is making noise?

Question edited for clarity, MAKER.
Question moved to Model Category.

Your fridge freezer has three fans.

The compressor evaporator fan cuts in and out as required to maintain temperature.

The fridge evaporator circulation fan runs to maintain an even temperature. It stops when to open the door and resumes when you close it and stops when the set temperature is reached as long as the compressor isn't running. If the compressor is running, the fan normally runs to prevent icing which happens slowly.

The freezer also has a fan, and that runs pretty much all the time unless target temperature is met and the compressor is not running. This fan runs when you open the door to stop the moist air from the room freezing on contact to the 0'F, -18'C evaporator fins. The fan keeps the air moving to deposit less frost.

It sounds like your is running normally except for the noise. Trace the noise and find it. The compressor fan has a Shark Paper fibre board cover and these often distort over time and touch the fan blades. That is the common cause. The less common cause is the internal fans pinging off built up ice that should have been removed during the defrost cycle.

Samsung refrigerator loud noise

if the fan is still running when you open the door , the I would be leaving that idea as a last resort
try this
get 2 taper door chocks and put one either side at the back of the fridge
push the cabinet sideways and slip one chock in a bit then do the other side
many noises are from the bottom plate that the compressor is mounted on from tapping on the floor and lifting it a bit stops the noise
the same as when you open the door the pressure on that plate is removed and so it stops hitting the floor

How do I level my domestic kelvinator fridge . the floor seems to be level . I recently relocated to Cairns

the front feet under the door opening are adjustable screws. You may have to use a shifter to get them to move as they mat be rusted . adjust so the fridge slopes slightly to the rear. This keeps any moisture on the back wall to drain out the hole and the door will close if left open

My hotpoint ff187 fridge/freezer is making a beeping sound and has flashing lights. We have tried everything from turning off this button and that, then trying the power off and backwards again. There is...

clean the door rubbers and sides this sometimes fixes the problem as the seals are not closing properly and the fridge freezer thinks you have left the door open.

Door was left very slightly open. reclosed but so...

This is normal when compressor starts u can hear some gurgling from evap. from feron flowing. If you hear gurgling only when you close the door it's water in drain pan when you close the door air is forced down drain tube blowing air into water.

Weird (Pressure Release) Noise After The Door Has Been Closed

The freezer being closed up tight and so cold can create a negative pressure inside. This negative pressure will cause the door to be very hard to open and could pull the door closed too quickly. Most manufactures today use small air valves the open and release as the door is being opened and closed. They are most often found on the bottom of the door itself or sometimes in the cabinet behind the back wall.

The noise is perfectly normal, my wife says it is there to alarm her when I am eating too many ice cream bars.....

My fridge freezer is making a lot of noise after opening the freezer door. It sounds like a fan

You are right it is the freezer fan. In order to replace this fan the rear panel has to be removed. The fan is attached to the rear panel on the inside. The DC brushless motor over time wares out, causing the shaft to wobble, this wobbling causing the fan blade to hit the side of the housing.

The fridge on my fridge freezer has stopped

just about all friges work off the frezer .the evap fan moves the air fromthe frezer to the frig.so you would here fan noise.i dont know your brand but on most frezers if you turn the frezer temp to the highest setting thats acomplished by keeping the air from going to the frige.hence warmer frig temps .also make sure fan on out side back is working and condenser is clean.again turn air damper control from frezer to frige to lowest setting .somthimes this could be in frig section.God bless ,tom

FREEZER SOUNDS VERY NOISY

that because the internal fan is hiting the ice or has bad bushings you can hear the noise just with the door close because when you open the door there is a switch the one turns off the internal fan so when you close the door it turn on the fan again if you wants to hear that with the door open just open the door and push the botton swich with your fingers and you'll hear the noise
