Cassette loading error 31:23

Cassette loading error beep to eject While recording or playing back I get the error message C:31:23 Reinsert cassette. When in playback I eject and reinsert the cassette the problem in playback usually goes away. However, when recording usually the unit keeps on going and images are scattered, with a clicking sound that repeats every fraction of a second, making the recording useless. The problem appears to occur more towards the end of the tape.

Take the battery out and turn selection switch to camera and then turn it off. Put the battery back in and its working again.
if that doesn't work try
Try smacking the side of the camera relatively hard with the palm of your hand. Eject the tape and reinsert. You may need to do this a couple of times.

I have had this same problem several times. In all cases the problem has been a tape that has been run at the very end of it's lenght and it is too tighten. I loose the tape manually just a bit and it helps. Just be careful not to leave the tape too loose.

For loosing the tape you have to push the lock button with e.g. a pen and while doing that just take the tape out just a bit. Tape should be left at the level it was. It must not look like a loosen tape. If you get it out too much, just roll it back by twisting the reel again while pushing the lock button down.

To be able to loose the tape you of course need to open the protective lid first. For this there is a separate lock switch at the side of the cassette.

Sony ccd trv218e, recording & playing back does'nt work

I had that problem also and I found that using smaller tapes helped. I was using the 120 minute tapes, I think they may be too heavy.

Tape will not eject

If you open the eject thingy like normal then look for a small white plastic tap. its located right underneath the "start/stop" text you see on the back end of the camera (where the record-button is). You´ll need something like a small screwdriver or similar. Press it and and the tape ejects like normal. Worked for me. Saved me the repair bill :)

E04 Error Message

Here's what i found. I was able to clear the message by opening and closing and ejecting the cassette. I also had to play with the battery at the same time. Keeping the cassette door open and then pulling out the battery. After is did this a couple of times i got the message to clear. I too haven't used my camcorder for some time and now that the error message has cleared the camcorder tells me that i need to clean the heads. Hope this helps. Below is the message i found that pointed me toward ejecting the cassette. Good Luck, i'm off to buy a tape head cleaning cassette. An error indication (E03 or E04) appears. - (E03 or E04 UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY) This massage a malfunction of some kind has occurred. In this case the camcorder's functions become unusable. - Eject the cassette once and re-insert it, then check if the indication clears. When it does, you can resume using the camcorder. If the indication remains, consult your nearest JVC dealer or service center

Can not load any cassette even empty cassette holder can not be closed.

I had the same problem and solved it by removing the battery to allow the camera to reset. Worked fine after that.
