Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button (It's the round button located on the device right below the screen) at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Sometimes just pressing the home button will bring you back to the home screen regardless of where you are on your iPod.

you cant convert back, microsoft made 2003 - now blue. when you updated the update took over 02. by the way you should try to update to 2007 or 2010 when it comes out. there is so much more stuff in 2007.

This problem is certainly dirty or worn video heads, most likely just dirty. You could try cleaning with a tape head cleaner (wet type) If this doesn't work, contact me again, and I'll email you detailed instructions for cleaning.
