... Sometimes it has to do with the correct measures of the belt (there are many sizes and materials), you should check that if you changed the belt.... Another possibility is that the belt is too worn, or the pulley that support the belt has to be adjusted.

How do I keep the secondary can in position when installing the timing belt

Make sure the tensioner is off. If you route the belt properly, and keep a small amount of tension on it to make sure it stays in the cogs as you go, once the belt is in place and you adjust the tensioner, all the pulleys should stay where they are and not turn at all.

Serpentine belt diagram mazda

2012 Mazda 3 I touring Skyactiv - Takes a 38" 6 groove serpentine belt- Very hard to find. The only place I found besides the dealer it Advance Auto but they had to order from the warehouse. There are three grooved pulleys and a smooth tensioner. To relieve the Tensioner you will need a shallow 17MM socket, it is a bit difficult to see, but if you stand on the passenger side the mount point for the socket is to the left of the tensioner shock. The Tensioner shock is just above the smooth tensioner pulley. All the threaded pulleys' (Drive, A/C, and alternator are within the serpentine belt, the tensioner pulley is outside the belt pushing down on the belt. The easiest way to replace this belt, First remove the old belt by placing the socket on the mount point and pulling up on the ratchet towards the rear of the car, then pull belt off. Next remove socket, place the belt over the drive pulley (this is the one on the bottom to the rear of the engine. ( you will see there is another belt on this pulley on the back side.), then put the belt over the A/C pump bottom front. Keep tension on the belt so it stays in place. Now put that socket back on, push up to lift the tensioner pulley and slip the belt over the alternator pulley. Make sure the belt is sitting properly on each pulley and under the tensioner pulley. Good luck. I have run into quite a few problems finding parts and information for this particular model. Good luck. Hope this was helpful

To replacea turntable drive belt.Copyright.. Styluscity.com, JohnHarrison. Nov 2011Before starting any work on yourturntable disconnect it from the mains power supply.Remove the stylus or completeheadshell to prevent any accidental stylus damage.1. Remove the rubber platter mat toexpose the platter.
2. Put your thumb and forefinger through the two round holes either side of thecentre spindle and lift the platter off. You may need to give the centrespindle a light tap (whilst applying upward pressure) with a screwdriver handleor some similar tool that will not leave any marks or damage.
3. Remove the old belt and wipe the platter and motor pulleys with an alcoholswab to remove any old belt residue.
4. Place the new belt around the platter pulley making sure it is sitting flatwithout any twists.
5. Flip platter over the right way up. Acorrect fitting belt will stay put and an over belt will fall off.
6. You will see 1 or 2 largerectangle or square shaped cut outs in the platter near to the outer edge. Throughone pinch up the belt and slip a finger or belt hook between the platter pulleyand the belt gripping the belt ready to fit over the motor pulley.
7. Align the centre hole of the platter with the spindle and place platter backinto position keeping a grip on the belt.
8. Slip belt over motor pulley and give the platter a light clockwise rotationto ensure the belt is riding correctly.
9. Replace the rubber mat and then run the turntable to ensure correctoperation.

It sounds like the spring in my washer has broken. It made a loud sound during a cycle and now the basket is completely off balance and barely moves. I was wondering if the spring is worth fixing or if...

This could be an easy fix if the counter weight came loose from the top of the tub shell which is a common problem. Pull the unit out from the wall and removed the back panel to inspect the counter weight, spider pulley and belt. If the counter weight is not broke you can reattach it to tub shell and retighten the bolts. If it is broke it is about $30.00 plus shipping. Inspect the spider pulley which is attached to the tub with the belt around it. If it is not broken, you can turn the pulley by hand to check the tub bearings for free movement. Make sure the belt is in good shape and attached to the motor spindle and spider pulley. If the spider pulley is broken you may have to order a new pulley. If you have to remove the spider pulley you may want to use a gear puller from an auto parts store to remove the pulley. The belt is easily replaced once you know the below procedure:

1. Place the belt around the center of the motor pulley stretching the belt to the spider pulley leaving no slack in the belt.

2. Keeping the slack out of the belt, place the belt on the outside rim of the spider pulley as much as the belt tension will allow you to do so.

3. Keep the tension on the belt and slowly rotate the spider pulley counter clockwise until the belt is completely on the spider pulley.

Rotate the spider pulley several times to make sure the belt stays in the center of the spider pulley. If the belt is not centered after several revolutions you need to remove the belt and reinstall it after moving the ribs of the belt on the motor pulley in the direction which centers the belt. If it was my unit I would fix it unless you have to replace the outer tub shell (approximately $300.00 for parts only).

I need to know how to install the new belt

The following link explains how to install the belt on a Whirlpool Duet front loader:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3059652-drive_belt_installation_whirlpool_duet

This is an easy process, but it may take some effort to get the belt on the pulley. It is designed for a tight fit in order for the belt to stay in place on the tub pulley with no play in it. There is no tensioner and you do not loosen any motor mounts. Just make sure you hold the belt tightly in place with your hands and turn the entire tub pulley (like a steering wheel) in a clock-wise direction. The belt will stay on after you turn the pulley far enough for it to grip and stay in place.

If you have not purchased a replacement belt yet, the part number for the model you have this listed under is 8181670.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

How to route the belt

hi there, I am a dryer repairman of some six years experience.
I used to have this problem also, at the beginning of my work!
Firstly, put the "belt guide" in its correct postion, that is with the 2 metal prongs fitted into the 2 slots on the mounting plate below the motor. If it doesnt stay in place, remove and bend the 2 metal prongs outwards slightly. (belt guide = idler pulley assembly)
Secondly, feed the belt in, through the middle of the metal idler pulley arm, and loop it over the bottom pulley of the motor. Next, pull the belt out to the side, to check that its properly located on the pulley. You can pull the belt to the side with one hand, while feeling with the other, if the belt is neatly on the pulley.
Thirdly, while keeping a little tension always on the belt, slip it over the drum while keeping the idler pulley on the outside (RH side ) of the belt. Now reposition the belt on the idler pulley. While doing this, you are always keeping a little tension on the belt, by pulling out to the side, taking up the slack with left hand. Always keep a little tension on the belt, until spring is in place. Next, you push the belt down into its normal running position on the drum, this can be just approximate for now.
Fourthly, you fit the tensioning spring, between the idler pulley arm, and the hole in the seam of the dryer case. (or if there is a belt-break switch, you put it around that) This is a bit tricky, as you need a strong right hand to stretch the spring. Can use pliers to help, but sometimes makes it harder!
Lastly, after you have done all this and finished, must check that all is firmly in place before closing up the dryer. Rotate the motor pulley by hand, carefully, to see if the belt is running smoothly, not twisted or misaligned. Correct as needed. If there is a loud TWANG, then the idler pulley has come out of its seat, and you begin again from step one, being more careful, checking as you go.
