Run a couple cups of white vinegar through it (just like you were making coffee). Don't use a filter. You can use the same vinegar over again if necessary.
If calcium build-up is the problem, you will see lots of little flakes in the used vinegar. Continue running vinegar through it until you are sure the flakes have stopped, then run a couple full pots of water through it before you try making coffee.
This worked for me:
1) Turn off machine
2) Remove lower tray. It pulls right out. make sure it is clean. RE-insert.
3) Remove upper tray. It's a little trickier, put it also pulls down and out. Mine was full of coffee grounds. I rinsed it out with tap water.
4) Replace upper tray.
5) Take a used V-cup and take the foil and filter out leaving only the plastic tray. Clean it thoroughly of coffee grounds with water. Replace it in the V-cup insert.
6) Power on the Vue. It should come on pretty quick and say " Ready to Brew" run 6 to 8 oz through with just the blank V-cup. This will clean out any remaining debris.
7) Now put in a new V-cup and brew your coffee!
I had a similar problem with my XP 7240 with the coffee not coming out, but dripping through the machine and out the back. I found that overtime, there was a buildup of coffee in the "pod" area or percolation chamber and this was not properly removed. As a result, with additional cups being made, there was so much coffee compacted that it couldn't drip through.
I managed to clean it out by breaking up the compacted grains and it all worked fine. I also find that after each cup made, there is always some coffee grains left on the coffee cleaning tray above the grounds collector. I figured that this was the culprit as these grains would drop into the percolation chamber - adding this to the normal amount of coffee grains. It was never effectively cleaned out.
Now, I remove that tray after each cup, empty the grains and it seems OK. It's a pain, but I haven't had the problem for 2 months now.
Every now and then, I also get the vacuum cleaner and try to **** anything that might be oin there out.
This is caused by the water overflowing the filter. If you changed brands of filters, try going to a different filter that is not so heavy. If you haven't, the hole in the bottom of your filter basket might have built-up coffee in it, slowing the flow down. Try putting a sharp knife in the hole & turning it around to clean off any build-up.
The problem you are having is common when these units have been in use for a while. There is a sludge buildup preventing the brewed coffee from leaving the brewer soon enough. Straighten out a paper clip and use the wire to open up the blockage in the hole where the coffee would enter the coffee cup. You may have to go up from the bottom in order to do this thoroughly.
You might want to check and clean the coffee outflow spout ( the adjustable double spout on the outside of the machine) . If it is all plucked up that might be the cause.
