TV lamp has been replaced, still won't come on, no picture. When turned on, I can see a blue, kind of sparking light and noise starts and does this about three times. TV powers down and does this again. Whats wrong?

Lessing of brightness on a DLP set is a sign of imminent bulb failure.

First of all thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.
Please confirm if the brand and model number above is correct.
Blinking of the the LED (yellow and blue) at the front panel indicating that the lamp door cover is not seated properly. This cover will engaged to a micro switch giving the signal to the processor, once it is in open position, the unit will not power up and will experienced that kind of blinking error code. Go back to the lamp door cover and ensure that it is properly seat-in.
3D, 2D, red/green/blue ghost on the picture and letters means that the convergence circuitry gone bad. Symptoms is not connected to the light engine. The faulty parts is the convergence chips(IC). This chips are mounted on the large aluminum heat sink and starts with STKXXXX-XX (X means number). The most common STK chips used on Projection TV's is the STK392-110. You have to replaced them both on the board to resolve the issue(red ghosting). It is necessary also to check the resistance value of the resistors around its circuitry using the multimeter. I have a wd-57731 The lamp light blinked orange. i replaced the lamp turned the tv on and the timer blinks green for one minute and then the lamp light blinks orange again. It won't turn on. Can you suggest anything?

Take lamp out and reinstall. I had to do the same, hope this works for you. Oh, don;t forget to reset the lamp timer through the on screen menu. Good luck!!!

First you have to replace the lamp.
You can real owner's manual for info of how to do it. Lamps are available on-line.
It has to be done every 2.5 years of average use. Noise could be produced by ballast trying to start faulty old lamp.
If you still have problem after lamp replacement - color wheel could be another noisy reason. In this case you need to get professional assistance.

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast.But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 4000 hrs,2-3 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp.The lamp you need is 915B403001.Have a blessed one!

the fizzing sound you hear is most likly the ballast atempting to start the lamp so thats a good sign that the lamp is bad and not the ballast part # is(UX21516)

I have the exact TV and had the exact same problems. It is the light engine with color wheel that needs to be replaced, and they are VERY hard to come by for this model. Our repairman has had our TV for 5 months and still cannot locate a vendor that carries the part. He said according to Toshiba, the part has been discontinued. If you happen to find one, please post. I'll do the same.

I also have this model. A few months ago, when I turned on the tv, it told me my lamp was in need of replacement. just yesterday, my tv did the same as you....the blue light flashed and then the lamp light kept flickering. All I can say is your lamp needs to be replaced.

your plyback had a problem,change it with a new one
