The Apple 22" Cinema display M8149 (ADC) is one that is not compatible.
It might be better to find another brand display to work with your 2009 Mac Mini. The Apple model A1081 is DVI, but for the age (its 8 years old, the lamps are likely dimmer than new...) I would look for a resolution-compatible DVI input display (Dell Ultrasharp, etc..).

The 65W is for the 20" ACD (aluminum clad Apple Cinema Display)
The 90W (A1097)is for the 23" ACD
The 150W (A1098) is for the 30" ACD

The 150-1158-51 is one of the part numbers that is described as the CARS51 by ADC. It is not the newest number. Alpine Computer stocks these remote desktop units and their interface cards. The number is 800 456 2128

There are 2 possibilities

1. Bad thermostat (cold control) there should be power to both terminals on this, if there is only power to one then the thermostat is the problem.

2. ADC failure, there should be power at E8, that is power input to the board there should also be power at E2 (return from the thermostat), this input tells the ADC to switch the compressor on. Check for power at E3 this is the red wire that feeds the compressor. If you have power here then there is a problem between here and the compressor, a wiring fault.

I think however that it will be either the thermostat or the ADC

yep! just use an ADC to VGA adapter and you're good to go. Then set the resolution to suit.

My G4 has a ADC & VGA on the same card. The VGA works but the ADC, is doing the same thing as you described. I am searching the web, and can not find an answer to this problem. George 3/21/2010

Do you have the black unibody Macbook Pro that was just released, or the silver model?

Since the display is DVI, it will directly hook up to the silver model. If you have the new model, you need a mini DVI to DVI adapter.
