My nortel T7316E phones will only ring partial ring and then all button lights flash on and off and there is not dial tone when I try to call out it does the same flashing

There is a mute button on the phone. It is located under the volume control button.1st button of three to the left. It is also possible your handset to the phone has gone bad.

It\'s in system programming: feature CONFIG, Terminals & Sets, enter ext #, Prime Line: set to I/C (for intercom dial tone) or Line xxx. It is probably set to None based on your description.

MANY TIME A PERSON DIALS WITHOUT REALIZING THAT THE ACCEPTANCE CODE NEEDS TO BE INSERTED FIRST THE Nortel T7316E?...If you want to temporarily turn them off use do not disturb (feature 85, feature #85 to turn Do Not Distrub off) Turning off the ringing permanently will require you to program the set. transfer (under screen when on a call) is for internal transfer. you need the external transfer feature from your phone company, then a "link" key programmed on your phone. link is also feature 71. when on a call you hit link or feature 71, then dial the cell or have speed dial buttons for them,.

Try swapping the handset and cord with a working phone. Those handsets are known to loose the transmitters. As for the ringing, have someone make an intercom call to your extenxsion. Do not answer the call...while the light is flashing press the volume up button several times. www.dyna-tech.us

The Nortel 7316 set is propriatary which requires the nortel system in qrder to work., The pulsing lights are the set reacting to the standard line voltage.In order for it to work in your house you'll have to install the nortel phone cabinetand then attach the set(s) to it.

A question: -> does your phone ring? -> what software are you running on the system? If you know this will help a little in giving you more information. There is a Feature that you can dial if your phone rings... when there is a call coming in, dial FEATURE 8 1 1 You can even make this a button rather than dialing this feature code everytime: -> Feature * 3 -> press the button that you want to program -> dial Feature 8 1 1

With caller on phone, press the conference button. You will get intercom dial tone. DIal another extension or grab a line and dial another cell number. When connected, press "conference" again, and you will all be together.

Feature *81 will move line buttons.
