SOURCE: Alessi Electric kettle

The switch is most likely defective and has to be changed. It is also possible that the heating element is pulling too much current and also has to be changed.

An appliance service tech would have the tools to test the kettle and determine the exact fault.

SOURCE: MG32 Cordless Electric Kettle: Power light shows on my kettle but water does not...

sounds like there's water in the element. Empty it out and let it dry out completely for a few days, and then try it again.
If the element is a concealed element (ie- you can't see the coils when you open the lid up) then there's probably a water leak into the sealed compartment.
Contact the manufacturer for a recommended repairer.

SOURCE: My daughter bought me an

Have you tried using it on a different socket outlet ? Possibly there is a problem with the wiring at this socket.
If the electricity supply "trips" at the consumer unit it is either the RCD which trips due to e.g. the base of the kettle becoming wet or alternatively the MCB tripping due to an overload which shouldn't happen unless there is a fault in the kettle.
When you got a replacement kettle presumably they replaced the base also?

SOURCE: the handle fell off the kettle, how can I re-fix it?

If it do not have any obvious way to fix it (locking clips or screws) and it was just inserted on the metal part ..than you can use some kind of glue for plastic and fix it back again .a super -glue will work or a strong plastic adhesive .Clean both ends so that any grease to be removed...and apply the adhesive on the plastic end .. and than insert it to the metal end ..in such a way that the adhesive to fill the space and the excess substance will drain off when you press them together. leave them to react for a while without touching them ..be sure you choose a temperature resistant adhesive ...

Red light's on... but no hot water!

HI,

OK, inside the unit there are three items, the heating element, thermostat, and thermal fuse. What has happened is the element got too hot and the thermal fuse opened. There is no reset button. In some cases you may run across a defective heating element or thermostat but its not common. The fix would probably be replacement of the thermostat and thermal fuse. For this, you would have to contact a small appliance repair center in your area.

Goodluck,

When I turn on to start heating the water ... it clicks on and off and now over time will not heat water. Power is coming to it... I have clean it in and underneath ... worked once and now again will...

Chances are the heating element has been fading until it can no longer operate. You can try to have the heating element replaced or replace the unit.

Kettle doesn't heat up and no light comes on when press the On button

Check the obvious, 13amp fuse, if intact connect a multimeter switched to ohms across the live and nuetral pins of the plug (not plugged into mains) the reading should be between 0.05 ohms and 1.5 ohms if higher the element has burnned out or the over temperature sensor has activated. to determine which you will need to open up the bottom of the kettle and expose the wiring. using the above multimeter with the same settings locate the heating element this will have two terminals protruding from the water compartment thes will have eithe screw or spade connections, connect the multimeter across these two terminals and check for the readings above if correct the problem is the over temperature sensor if not then the problem is the heating element. the over temperature sensor will be a circular disk with two terminals clamped to the underside of the water compartment.
