By default, you may have some email settings provided by you network provider, but ignore them for now – you can always find them again later. Highlight Account Settings and press Select , then scroll up to Create new account and press Add.

  • First enter an account name, for example type ‘Gmail’. Now press OK.
  • Now you’ll neeed those details you found out earlier on. Highlight E-mail address and press Select. Enter your full email address for this account. Press OK .
  • Highlight Connect using and press Select. Select your mobile network provider from the list and press Select. If you are unsure of which is the right one, contact your network provider, but normally you should be looking for the same option as you use to connect to the web, for example: Vodafone GPRS .
  • Connection Type should already be set to POP3 by default, but if not, press Select, highlight POP3 and press Select .
  • Highlight Incoming server and enter the Incoming server address you found out earlier. It should look similar to a website address .
  • Highlight Username and press Select. Enter the username provided by your email provider and press OK .
  • Highlight Password and press Select. Enter your ordinary email password and press OK .
  • Highlight Download and press Select . This lets you decide how much of your email will be downloaded. By default it should be set to Header and Text, but to save more money on data fees, you can highlight Header only and press Select . You can also limit how much of the email is downloaded by pressing Size limit. Enter a number of less than 200 to reduce the number of kb downloaded.
  • Go back and highlight Check Interval and press Select . This lets you choose whether you want the phone to automatically check for new emails at regular intervals of 5 minutes, half an hour, an hour… all the way up to every 12 hours. Or you can leave it set to Off, allowing you to do it manually and save on data fees. Press the Back button to return to the Account settings menu.
  • If you want, you can set up an outgoing server so you can send emails as well as receive them. If you don’t want to do this right now, you can skip the next few steps.
  • To set up outgoing emails, highlight Outgoing server and press Select. Enter the outgoing server address given to you by your email provider and press OK .
  • Highlight Username, press Select and enter the same information as you did previously for Username. Now press OK.
  • Highlight Password, press Select and enter the same information as you did for previously for Password. This is your ordinary email password again. Now press OK.
  • You can choose to enter your name and a signature by scrolling down and highlighting Your name and Signature and pressing Select.
  • Some email provider may use encryption, so you can set this up by highlighting Encryption and pressing Select . Choose the type of encryption your email provider requires for both incoming and outgoing mail and press Select. Normally, you’ll need to select SSL for each, although it may vary between providers. If in doubt, leave blank or check with your email provider.
  • Highlight Incoming port and press Select . By default this should be set to 110, but different email providers may require different port settings. If in doubt, check with your email provider. Press OK.
  • Highlight Outgoing port and press Select . By default this should be set to 25, but different email providers may require different port settings. If in doubt, check with your email provider. Press OK.
  • Last of all, press Done to finish the setup. This will return you to the Account setting menu. Highlight the account name you made in step on

I want to set up e-mail address on sony erisson k810i

There are a couple of ways to do this. Many cell providers will send set-up data directly to your handset, including email settings, so search their websites or ask a customer rep.

Another way is to manually enter the settings. Here are two references should you choose that path.

How old is the Phone? Phone batteries usually only last a year. Go through the phone and make sure things like the gps wifi bluetooth are turned off. also a constant data connection for auto updates of facebook or email or weather will decrease battery life.

K810i Update service

Yes, it's fine. Even though you have to select which phone you have, it will detect the current software version you have before updating and advise you whether there is an update available. This holds true for all SE phones with the "i" suffix.
