there is some software to unlock it, but for 1 phone it is not feasible to purchase software. you can also request unlock code from o2 itself. tell them you are travelling to other country and need an unlock code so you can use it in that country.

It seems your mobile is just an patch unlock so every time you update your phone it will lock to its original provider, but if the erom and gdfd_sw_bin if flash,it will permanently unlock and you can use any sim provider no matter how many update you make.
