Hi! you have to uninstall the driver for your network adapter and install it again coz maybe you have a faulty driver in your PC. to do this just go to my computer and right click and select properties, harware tab and device manager look for network adapter and right click and uninstall. be sure to have your cd driver for the network card.

Sounds like the computer is trying to boot from a network. Check the BIOS settings and remove "LAN" from the boot sequence or move the harddrive before LAN. Try (for experimentation sake) putting your harddrive as #1 in boot up. If no go, suggest returning BIOS to default settings. Also, there might be a problem with your harddrive. Try removing it, cleaning connections and replacing.

PXE means Pre-Boot Execution Environment. You see this message when the laptop trying to boot from a remote server using the network card. If you didn’t see the PXE-E61 message before, it means that the network card was listed after the hard drive in the boot order (you can set the order in BIOS) and the laptop booted directly from the hard drive. Now, when the hard drive has failed, the laptop cannot detect it and tries to boot from the next available device – the network card. Your laptop is not configured to boot from a remote server using the network card, that’s why you are getting PXE-E61 Media test failure error.

You have to replace the hard drive and reinstall the operating system?

The error message means that your system is trying to boot from LAN ie... Network boot enabled in your BIOS.

Since the system can't find any where to boot from. It is restarting.

Also probably your bootloader on the harddrive is corrupt. Please reinstall the operating system using a CD/DVD.

PXE-E61 media test failure on Acer Aspire 5050 laptop

Yes, your analysis of the problem is correct. The problem could be with the hardware & while you are trying to reinstall the Windows OS, the software checks on all hardwares before installing. The best solution would be to take your system to a nearest service provider & get the problem rectified. Once the problem is rectified by them, try to reinstall the OS along with them, so that if there is any other problem apart from the above they will be able to help you.

Wile I am trying to boot it up it goes in to a loop

Hello.

That error message usually refers to a hard disk failure. Your hard disk cable could be loose or faulty. Or, your hard drive would need to be replaced.

I'd suggest to check the cable and run your system's hardware diagnostics (often F2 or F12) when your system boots.

Hope this helps.
