I have an old Kogi L9CH 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor that pretty-much continually displays the on-sreen monitor menu for settings. I would like to take it apart to see what it could be but not sure how to open it up.

It seems that you may have a faulty switch, I have included a video that covers Video Monitor Repair and generally is the same for most models. Things to keep in mind when repairing units is that components inside can have high voltage, sharp edges and corrosive content.

Each model is a little different yet the component placement and purpose is pretty universal for brands and display units. Please take care when opeining and diagnosing the issues with your unit.

Drivers

This is a problem with the video drivers not the monitor. I would download the newest drivers for your video card, uninstall the current drivers, then install the new ones.

Kogi Monitor with fuzzy text

Here is one small solution. goto start: -> control panel -> display click on the "appearance" tab. then click on "effects" check the box that says: Use the following method to smooth the edges of screen fonts (and make sure to choose "cleartype") You should notice the fonts are a little sharper as well as having a backdrop.

Kogi L9ch 19 in flat monitor

(I posted the latest post.) Change the resolution. (Mine was 1024 by 768, so I changed it first to 800 by 600 and then back to 1024 by 768, and it's back to normal!)

Hope that helps.
