-if you have replaced the ink cartridges and you have the color bars in middle of page and columns are not aligned, try to do the alignment of the ink cartridge
-if the alignment procedure fails; try the old cartridge
-if the old cartridge exhibit the same problem, you need to replace the printer

I have a Dell 964 printer. On powerup it aligns the cartridges. How do I stop this superflous function.

uninstall the printer driver and re-install it to correct the problem.

first u see cartridge is ok or u can install a new cartridge then aling from both the side first u give print of aling page and then scan the aling page i think this well solve the problem

Printer says tape hasn't been removed. Won't align

1. Remove the cartridges from the printer.
2. Turn the printer off. Disconnect the printer from your system.
3. Disconnect the printer from the power source.
4. Examine the cartridges for any remaining tape or tape adhesive.
5. Use a can of Compressed Air to blow out of the printer, any loose bits of paper or other foreign matter.
6. When you have done all the above, reconnect the power source and reconnect the printer to your
system.
7.Reinstall the Cartridges.
8. Retry the alignment routines.
9. should the same result you first experienced reoccur, repeat steps 1,2,& 3 and repackage printer for
shipment to your vendor, service vendor, or Dell.

i refill my ink, it dases not recognice it and when attempting to ptint document it open a window with erroe#1203 ,please help

Dell Photo All in One Printer 964

Try printing a windows test page from the driver software, START-SETTINGS_PRINTERS-DELL964- properties,,etc. If the test page prints with color then I believe that your driver is set to print in greyscale. If you can't find that option in the driver you might try to re-install the driver from your original cd.

Dell 964

Either there is a bad contact with one of the inks ( take it out clean the contacts w/ alcool),or turn it off open the printhead area and try putting it back to it's original place, which is usually on the far right.
