Why does freezer light not come on when freezer and fridge are working

I have a 5-year old LG french door refrigerator, the freezer light wouldn't turn on when the freezer door opened. The led light and magnetic switch were OK. I found the led light had no power due to broken wires located in the top right door hinge. There was insufficient wire strain relief insulation and the wires broke with the repeated door operation. Soldered the wires, wrapped it with electrical tape and it works fine.
