Make sure the main power switch is OFF. Hold the "ON", "MENU", and "INPUT" buttons at the same time and turn the main power switch on. Keep them held until the yellow power standby light comes on, then let go.
Check out the Power supply to the lamp . It must not be high . .
Check if the voltages are correct to the lamp's unit and it's PCB
[printed circuit board]. I recommend using a service manual . .............................................................
Here is how to replace a projector's bulb correctly :
1:Make sure that your power switch is off and that the power cord
is unplugged from the electrical socket. It is also wise to unplug
any other cables and label them in order to restore them in the right
way once the lamp is replaced.
2:In order to see the lamp, remove the access handle on the
outside cover. You may need to use a screwdriver.
3:Pull out the used lamp and clean the relevant parts using micro
fiber products and not paper. Please note that in some projectors a
small inside filter should also be replaced.
4:Insert the new lamp into the projector carefully avoiding
touching the glass of the lamp itself. Touching the lamp will deposit
skin oil that will likely damage any new lamp during use.
5:Reassemble the access panel, replug the cables and power up the
projector.
Things You'll Need:
new projector lamp
screwdriver
micro fiber duster
Warning:
avoid touching the bare projector lamp
I hope this will help .
it can be also due to faulty ballast or the colour wheel due to which the horizontal bar is showing up.also if the buklb is giving less light /glow that means its weak should be the cause of this problem.as the voltage of the bulb should be checked
how to replace the colour
wheel with diagram and procedure http://www.jangro.com/a/2006/07/24/samsung-dlp-replace-color-wheel/
the bulb hot indication has nothing to do with the lamp counter.u would have reset the counter as suggetsed by the manufacturer,
this problem is because of the following:
1) wrong bulb
2) cooling fans not working adequately
3) defective ballast
check the above for a solution
This problem is caused by the overheating sensor cutting in too early. Some bulbs seem to run hotter than others and the overhear sensor seems to gradually cut out at a lower temperature over time. The solution is simple. Open up the projector and you will find the sensor/cutoff bolted to the back of the lamp compartment (not visible from the lamp compartment), you need to take the top off to see it. The component is an Airpax 67L100. You can order a replacement from Digikey.com -- or other component vendors for between $5 and $9. Simply replace the current sensor with a new one (solder it in) and for just a few dollars you will be back in the game. If you want to give yourself a little more margin of heat replace the component with an airpax 67L110 (cut off at 110 degrees instead of 100 degrees). The extra 10 degrees will give you more ability to handle hotter bulbs.
If you want to verify that this really IS the problem before spending the $8 try unbolting the sensor and letting it remain loose. Since it is not bolted down it will not heat up as much and will likely solve the problem. Don't leave it that way though. Once you have satisfied yourself that sensor really is the problem order a replacement, solder it in, and bolt it back down so that it can do its job.
