I would do a factory hard reset (Google make and model number for instructions.), it is likely that will restore function, you will loose all stored data except what was loaded on the phone new.
You should try a factory reset, just google the make and model for instructions to do the factory reset, if that doesn't clear the issue you need a new phone.
What make and model phone? The new call light, or the new message light? If the latter then you have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system takes messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
"First, turn on Bluetooth and Bluetooth visibility in your phone. This makes your phone visible to other Bluetooth devices.
Headset instructions:

Press and hold the On/Off button for at least five seconds, until you hear along high frequent beep and the light flashes red and green.
The headset is now in pairing mode.
If your phone supports auto pairing, press Yes when the question "Add device?" appears in your phone. If not, continue with the next step.
Prepare your phone according to the phone instructions on how to add a Bluetooth device. Please note that for some phones you may need to enter a passcode. The headset passcode is 0000.
Phone instructions (NB: these may differ a little depending on phone model. For exact instructions, see Pairing instructions for the specific headset and phone model on www.sonyericsson.com/support.):
Enter the main menu and go to Settings, then select the Connectivity tab.
Select Bluetooth > My devices.
When New device appears, press ""Add"".
The phone starts searching for devices. Make sure that the headset is in pairing mode.
When the headset becomes visible in the Devices found menu, highlight it and press ""Select"".
Enter the Passkey (0000 by default) and press ""OK"".
The headset is now added to the list of paired devices and is ready to use."
Try pairing it again. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on phone, turn the BT2050 on by pressing and holding the side power button. Then, press and hold the center (round) button for at least 10 seconds (light will stay solid and it is now on pairing mode). Follow instructions on your phone. Hope this helps.
Okay, Does the Red light on the infa-red flash 5 or 6 times when you try and turn the phone on? If it does then you will need to flash your phone. Follow the instructions from the site you use (I use Wotanserver.com) When you plug your phone in, make sure that you hold and keep holding the 2 and 5 buttons untill the first two stages are complete. It will then tell you what to do.
