Switching power cords, pressing on/off button, changed remote control batteries, checked all connections.
If the power light comes on but the screen stays black, then your TV might be on the wrong input Channel. for example: you switch inputs when you play games or watch dvds vs. watching regular tv. Try to change the input

I HAVE THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.
Confirmed with Samsung tech support. Problem is with remote. to fix, simple take the batteries out of the remote. Press and hold the UP Volume button for 2 Mintues (no cheating, it has to be at least 2 minutes), this Reset's the Remote Control. Put the batteries back in. Bob's your uncle. all fixed.
SOURCE: i have a brand new
You may need to recode the remote since you changed batteries, and the newly installed batteries are new, and installed correctly.
SOURCE: bn59 00463 volume works nothing else cant turn on
Step 1: Remove the batteries
Step 2: Press the power button (red button) on the remote control 5 times.
Step 3: Replace the batteries and your remote should work fine.

I had this same problem with a Hampton Bay fan with a remote light switch. I call the manufacturer of the of the switch and was told that the model switch I had would not work correctly with CFL bulbs. The problem is with the dimmer function. You either need to change the bulbs to incandescent, or change the remote receiver in the ceiling. Hampton Bay was kind enough to send me a new receiver that works with CFL. The CFL units are white, and the incandescent is black. Hope this helps you.
